Re: BBVA How sensitive?

I'm visualizing myself with that application page loading, with the good B335 on my right shoulder saying no and the bad B335 on my left shoulder saying what the heck.

Taxi, I'm probably one of a handful that was eventually approved after getting the pending status. I had a rather lengthy thread about how I got flagged for fraud before I could make a single purchase. Long story short, they thought an impersonator applied with my name because of how many inquiries. I have a ton - like 8-10 on each CR in the last 6 months. 98% of people don't have an issue, but if you do they are really difficult to get a straight answer from.

Re: BBVA How sensitive?

Wow. Thanks for the heads up. I think I'm gonna pass as i just asked to upgrade my Macy's to Amex. Don't really need any more cards. But I'm like kid with new bike. My last collection was deleted and my report crystal clean now. I don't think it has ever been this clean in my life. As I never bothered with it before. According to myfico simulators. I will be looking at 780 plus scores in a year. As my accounts age a little. And I continue to pay on time. Not sure how accurate that is. Hmm

The rewards aren't that great. You have better cards. I'm just an oddball card nerd so I applied for it. I know that feeling of having a crystal clear report too, it's like getting a new car.

Re: BBVA How sensitive?

I would not compare the Macy's Amex to the BBVA even if the credit limit on the Macys is higher due to the furniture special purchases trick. Bbva is another actual bank to develop a relationship with, as is wellsfargo of course but their incentives stink.

still a good call to be able to choose your battles and hold back. I have 6 new accounts 6 inq in May but still was approved.

Thanks foreguy. Of course I know the difference. Already have relationship with amex. The points was making. No need to app for anything. Macy's is upgrade. Save my hp's.

@taxi818: That's good that you're practicing restraint--same as me right now. And except for the fact I have 3 old but paid court collections my report is clean too and our UTIL is the same. BTW just so you know when you upgrade to Macy's AMEX it shows up on your CR as a seperate new TL--just like my new Club Account did recently. That's what's been keeping me from upgrading to it (AMEX).

Thanks CH. Defenantly showing restrait. my score went up another 4 points since yesterday so now i want to see how high I can actually get it. noticed now. that my fico is extremely slow to update scores. did not notice this before. but when i check walmart i can see transunion score instantly and when i check experian direct it also is instant. its actually been over a week since my score changed on experian. so i just canceled the 3b monitoring since ive had it 5 months. i will renew it in order for it to update the credit report. since it only does that yearly. best to cancel and resign up to get them to refresh since it does not cost any extra. too bad that will be new trade line. and i also have the special events account. after that i will not apply for anything. not until around xmas.

Re: BBVA How sensitive?

Is that 670 score your EX? If your score is over 700, you will probably get a 5 figure limit. 670 is probably worth $4500 or so.

If not I'd say this is a good card to gamble on because if you lose, just another inquiry to add to your collection, but if you are approved, the limit will be high enough to be worth it. Higher than many cards you could app for.
