BCE CLI request. Amex emailed asking me to call

I activated the card a week ago and charged about $300 on it so far and today I went online to request a credit line increase from $1,000 to $5,000. System replied that it was under review with the '7-10 day' message.. A few hours later I receive this email:

"We've finished reviewing your credit limit increase request. To get the details of our decision please contact our Customer Care team at your earliest convenience by calling 1-800-535-7790.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you for your Card Membership."

Has anyone ever gotten this response? I'd call but not sure they're open at this time so I'll just wait until tomorrow. I'm just curious as to why they want me to call versus a flat out denial or approval. Any insight?

Had that happen. Ended up a denial because it was within 60 days of opening.

+1. Denied due to account recently opened.

More evidence that they're back to the strict 61 day requirement.

What cap said, in regards to the others, your clock isn't reset. You'll be good to go at 61 days(no guarantee for approval ofc)
