Here's an interesting data point. I sent them a SM asking if taking the offer would result in a hard pull. Here's the relevant part of the response:

Thank you for contacting BECU regarding your pre-approved Visa Credit Card offer.  I am happy to assist you today.

Accepting this offer will not generate a hard inquiry on your credit as you have already been pre-selected.  I can see that your approval is for $3,500 with a variable rate APR of 9.15%.  You can accept this offer from within your Online Banking account or we can accept this for you over the phone.

Nice to know, CAP, especially since I'm a member as well. Thanks for the data point! Smiley Happy

Sure hope so, just got offer and approval pending, 10k, 7.15% after 12 months, first year free rewards (seems like kinda mix of other reward cards for travel, min redemption cash back 50).

Sorry to bring up old thread, went googling if it was hard pull, cap tool came up.  Smiley Tongue  And yes, I apped when that popped up (great for cash advance or BT, better than ring, no FTF, and lower than my PLOC).

Nice preapproval. I'm a big fan of CUs and would absolutely accept this offer if I were you - especially since this is a SP only and you don't mind the fairly low SL.

Agreed, Imperfectfuture. I don't think that 10k is a low starting limit on any card, much less a CU card! Smiley Happy

Not sure if the poster was referring to CAP's preapproval amount, which is still pretty good for a CU card.

Many CU's aren't Navy Federal and don't offer 25k out of the gate to a customer with no prior card history with that CU! Smiley Happy
