BOA signature upgrade?

So the BOA REP said he can submit a request for a signature line for me. I haven't don't it yet. I imagine this takes me through some account review. He said can take 7-10 days to know and then a few wks to mail. How scary is this review process? Anyone done this? I've read on these forums of issues when doing BOA reviews like closures or other AA. Is that anything to worry about in a review for signature line? I received an increase 2 months ago. I am not keeping a balance on my cards right now. I've had the card for about 9 months. Should I even do it, or no? I don't currently have a travel card or signature line, so perhaps one could come in handy at some point. Thanks for all advise.

I think youll be fine Roodog!. Youve got the required cli, so obviously they trust you can handle that limit so just let the process play out even i if it takes some time. When all is said and done youll have your siggy and then you can just get jiggy wit it lolSmiley Happy

Re: BOA signature upgrade?

Normally once you have a CL of 5K BofA will be happy to convert to a Signature card. If your  present limit is lower than 5K it  will mean they need to CLI first and this usually is a HP on TU.  What is your limit now ?  By review they probably ment that they will pull a report for a CLI. Nothing to worry about other than a new HP. Good luck!

Re: BOA signature upgrade?

Thanks for the replies! My current limit is $6700. I did a pull a couple months ago. Went from 2500 to 6700. The rep said upgrading to signature wouldn't result in pull, unless I wanted to do a cli. I haven't pulled the trigger on this yet. Wanted to consult with you experts! He said I may get new card number and there is something for him to check saying I'm not willing to forfeit rewards points I've earned. I definitely don't want to forfeit, but that made me nervous. Is it best to just redeem before doing this?

Re: BOA signature upgrade?

With the limit of 6,7K you can go ahead and convert to a Siggy card.  Smiley Happy  BofA does not do it automatically. I  know when I PCd from Cash Reward to BBR I had to redeem the rewards first or I would have lost them.  If I remember correctly the Cash reward I converted to a Siggy whithout loosing the rewards but yes the card number will change as the Siggies have different numbers.  One of my Cash rewards card I PCd to the Travel rewards and there I had to make sure to redeem the rewards as well. So to be safe wait until you can redeem and then ask to convert.  I don't think you would loose the rewards if you convert to the same type of rewards card and just upgrade to a Siggy but better safe than sorry Smiley Happy

Okay, cool! Thanks! I'll probably redeem and call back to convert soon.

Enjoy your Siggy once you have it ... but beware it can take some time until you have it in your hands.. BofA is not the fasted in converting cards  (at least years back) but the present card can be used during the waiting process.  I think a  couple years back I waited like 2-3 weeks each time  for the Siggy conversions.
