Re: Barclaycard rewards

Just went and googled that and was denied. Wishing I wouldn't have tried now. It's probably going to hurt my score a bit. Thanks again.

Re: Barclaycard rewards

I received the same message when i apped for it on a friday night but by monday they sent me an email telling me to set up my online account when I at that point did not even know i had gotten approved!! I had  a 640 when I got approved but was denied when my score was 615 the year prior. That could have been due to my discharged bk though and less to do with the fico itself?

Still call that number tomorrow and try to recon your denial!  They are known to recon very well, what do you have to lose other then a few minutes of your life?   Alot of denials are overturned!   Just be prepared to answer the following questions when you recon:

What is your income

What and where do you work

Explain any derog on your credit report and be prepared to have good answers such as your currently working on getting them removed by what ever method you choose or say you were going through a tough time in your life or lost a job or hardship or something of the sort, but make sure you don't go against what you said what you do for a living and how long you have worked there, etcSmiley Happy

They will ask thee type question.s

Re: Barclaycard rewards

Yes recon!!! Even though I was still denied through recon they are very very nice!! Alot of people have great luck with reconning with Barclays so dont give up just yet!!

They will ask you questions about your income and basically questions of why their computer denied you. For me they asked why have so many account been open recently, I told then I was rebuilding. I also tried to explain my inquiries but the rep didnt care about the inquiries (that wasnt a concern for him) he said if I have more history with my oldest account and then had the new accounts he could approve me but since my oldest account is pretty new plus I opened up more he couldnt right now. He said to just build up.more history and apply again. But on the other hand I have read a lot of people who were denied for the same reason who called and was able to get approved so dont give up!!!! I was so scared to call but they are honestly the nicest people ever and even if they cant approve you they will tell you why you were denied, what you are doing right and what to do to get approved in the future.

Also your score might take a little hit because its a new inquiry (whether approved or not, even if approved the inquiry might lower your score a little)

Good Luck!! And I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Re: Barclaycard rewards

Well I just called them and the gentleman I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. He never even mentioned collections. He said my auto loan looks great as well as my school loans but the reason for being declined is not enough credit established with my capital one card. That sucks.. He recomended maybe applying for some store charge cards to help establish my credit card credit. Thanks again everybody for the help Smiley Happy

Re: Barclaycard rewards

Im sorry Smiley Sad the same with me tho so your not alone. They also never said anything about my collections. I also read that they dont really care to much about old collections (as long as it not a lot) especially when it has nothing to do with credit cards. You are on the right track and definitely reapply in 6 months.

Re: Barclaycard rewards

Sorry to hear... Deffinety get in with them in 6 more months if you so choose...  They pay attention to people that have app'ed before as well... First time declined, 8 months later approved @ 4k.
