After having been approved for the U.S. Airway 50K card I had my gf apply for the card on Friday. Got the 7-10 day message but when I checked the application status it said declined. Have her call recon and they are telling her that she was declined because she didn't meet the 'level' requirements for the card and they didn't even HP her ( I checked and they didn't). She doesn't know much because I'm the one who applied for her so she hangs up with them. I explain to her that there are no levels to this card and the explanation given makes no sense. Have her call back again and the second CSR tells her the same thing but explains that the levels are not from Barclays but she doesn't meet the level requirement with USAir and she needs to deal with them.
I know this is BS because I had just signed up with USAir prior to applying and have 0 miles with them (other than from the card). They also told her that she can't reapply for 30 days. Im not sure what next step to take. There is no level requirement of any kind for this card so no clue what's going on.
Thoughts and suggestions?

Call the 24/7 recon line and tell them everything here and if they tell you the same pile of BS, keep trying until you get an answer. Sorry Barclays customer service is really letting you and your GF down right now.

Barclays: 866-408-4064 (Credit Analyst) Is the number I've had her call. Usually they are great. No clue where they are coming up with this excuse

Call again. Sounds like a misinformed CSR.
Keep tryin.
While the explanation may be bs, you are not always going to be approved for every single thing you apply for. Some things are declined, period, no matter who you call and how many times. They don't "owe" you the card. They can decline you for any reason they want.
Now, I think this reason sounds like total nonsense, and you should definitely be calling to recon, but I wouldn't necessarily expect them to overturn it just because. Maybe they just don't want to extend the credit right now. We've all be declined for silly reasons before, and had to live with it and try again later. Don't stress too much over it.
Good luck and I hope you can get it approved

I get it that no one is entitled to credit but there is absolutely no reason for her to be declined. What you are missing is that they didn't even process her application or pull her credit and the reason they are giving doesn't exist, so it's not a 'silly' reason, its a complete fabrication. Given that this card has a short life expectancy and that she's being told that she can't apply again for 30 days, I think this is a tad bit different than normal 'declines'. If they were telling her that her credit isn't good enough, too many inquiries or whatever Id accept it and move on but that's not the case.
If you have a copy of the application you may want to review it again to make sure that there is nothing in there that may look out of place (or even erroneous) that would typically result in a denial even before an automated hard pull. US Air does not underwrite the application so the reason given is a bit strange. A minimum $5000 limit in this World MC will typically back out to a minimum income based on some sort of percentage utilization. Sounds like their computers killed the application even before a hard pull was initiated.
I agree it's a bit fishy that they didn't even pull her credit....I'm sorry I did originally miss that. Does she have another card with them?

No, just an AU on mine of the same card
I was just thinking maybe if she did have another account w them, they decided she was overexposed without pulling the report. But that is probably not the case. However since you were just approved for US Airways, that could very well be what is throwing it off, since she is connected to one of your accounts with them.
