I will try. Thanks
@kieawrote:I just applied for Barclays Apple Visa because I see from the forum it is the easiest card to get approved for. I was denied within seconds with no hard pull (thankfully). They were IIB but the account was charged off about a year before I filed. So I called the backdoor number and the rep asked me if it's okay if he look over my application but it will be an hard pull. I said yes (still haven't gotten a hard pull) he come back after a hold and says they will like to see more credit history after my bankruptcy. I had my Credit 1 account open for 10 months now. As well as 4 other cards haven't missed a payment since my bankruptcy and I have 18% utilization now (next week it will be at 4% after my report updates). He also said I had too many inquiries...I have 13 in the past 12 months on TU (needed a car after bk so I had no choice).
Should I try again next week after my report updates or this a lost cause? I'm hoping for at least a 10 point increase next month since my bankruptcy will be 1 year old.
Good advice given by all... like has been mentioned already, time is your friend in this case. ![]()
I'm actually impressed that it seems the issue was lack of history and too many HPs and not your past charge off. As you found out, they don't forget... I would have thought they would have been more concerned about the CO. (This might be a good sign) ![]()
Of all the lenders I burned, Barclays is the only one I've not been able to get back with (I concede I've not tried recon, I just accepted the auto-denial and no HP as it is). Possibly recon is a way around the black list, even if not for all products maybe at least some.
Thanks for sharing your experience, and let us know how things go in a few months when you try again! ![]()
i just recently got a barclaycard with 9 Months credit history
I'm going to try again in September. At that time 3 of my credit cards will be 1 year old...hopefully that will help my profile.
But I think the inquiries is really my problem
I research the forums a little and I noticed that a lot a people have been able to get an denied overturned by calling the backdoor number and that is why I tried. They seem to be okay with bankruptcy as long as you have a strong profile after the CO.
You should try the pre-qualify for Capital One. It is a soft pull and if they offer anything you can get away from Credit one.
Yes I tried...I didn't get any offers yet. I'm afraid to apply without the offer.
Not trying to rub salt in.. Did you burn Cap One .. thats at least a year post BK... Some banks like to see 2 years post bk....(if you didnt burn them)
Another option is try for something like Disco secured... (Getting a *good* secured is still better than a subprime/predatory card with more fees)
Even with the pulls you might still be able to get something before those fees kick in/kick in again....
When are the fees going to be due?
You really need some time...

lol, sorry, i had to laugh. I wonder what their policy is to let you back in. I know with AMEX it takes years.
