Best Buy Question

One, I cant garden. Two, Citi doesn't like me as I burned them on a Shell MasterCard in 2003. Currently have no Citi cards, although I have macys / bloomingdales which i am not sure if that counts. 

I applied this am and got this message. In the past, it would just usually say 7 to 10 days in the mail, decline. I havent applied for this in at least 6 months. Lots of inquiries on EQ and new accounts although no negatives. Call them up earlier this morning, gentleman had me on hold for 5 minutes and came back and said sir, our computers our down and I cant process the application. Could you please call back in a few hours. 

of course Im nervous to call them back and have them grill me, but maybe they will just decline me or floor me and approve me for a small limit on store card? lol

This is very similar to my past teases with Discover card where they tell me to call new accounts team and then just say sorry we cant approve you.

I got that message earlier this year when I applied, called in and was denied. I wouldn't think so, Citi just ownes the bank that backs Macy's/Bloomies.

Just told me I was denied, kinda glad they denied me though, I hardly ever shop at BB. The letter they sent me told me I was only denied for one reason "Too many CRA INQ" and at that time I had only 10. GL though, call in the worst they can say is denied.

When ive gotten that screen with Citi Retail cards, it's been verification and quickly approved as soon as I've called in.

Do they just ask you the idenity questions? and then process the app?

Yeah just basic identity questions, then put on hold for a few minutes, then approved. Goodluck!!

Thanks B, im going to call. I have a scary amount on inquires on EX so im thinking its a long shot but then again, I might get surprised!
