So this is an interesting thing from Credit Karma - Karma Guarantee.
It will pay one $50 (am sure there is fine print) if you are not approved for the card it shows this banner with.
I've aeen this as well. The gimick is, you have to acquire a CK Money bank account for the funds to be deposited into. This is the only way to receive your $50 credit. Once funds are added to your CK Money bank account you can then tranfer to your desired bank (assuming your bank is supported by their system).

I wondered what the asterisk was! I was going to say, yeah, but what does its fine print say?--but now I don't need to. No thanks, CK, I'll keep my bank accounts at BofA!
I think the Upgrade card is the asterisk there
