CLI request, pulling authorized user report by mistake

I am concerned that when my wife does a cli request with cap1 they are pulling the authorized users profile by mistake. The reasons for rejection and the credit score shown strongly resemble the authorized users profile and do not make sense for the primary card holders credit profile. We called Cap1, and they advised that there policy is to not pull the authorized user report. But, they would not consider my argument that they may be doing it out of mistake, or confirm the ssn on the report drawn/review the report. Could this actually be them pulling the wrong profile? Should we call back or send an email to someone that better handles this. We spoke with a supervisor, but it is still odd. Her score is 660-670 but it is coming up as 580, which is right around the authorized users score. It also list to many financial obligations, but her utilization is at 30%, coincindentially the authorized user has maxed out cards. Any adice it appreciated!

Re: CLI request, pulling authorized user report by mistake

Typically a CLI request does not pull an "authorized user" credit report as you've stated...it pulls the original card holder as they are the guarantor.  It is odd that you're seeing/they're saying something different.  When you look at their scores online, I believe they provide a Vantage Score but I am thinking your denial letter is listing the FICO score they're basing it off of?

Re: CLI request, pulling authorized user report by mistake

The too many financial obligations thing is just a coincidence, and as far as the score, Cap One's CreditWise score is a TU Vantage 3.0 score, which can vary wildly (yes even up to and past 100 points) from a FICO 8 score.

I can assure you they're not pulling the AU's reports. For one, whenever you request a CLI, they never do a fresh/immediate pull. They use a two-month old SP. Two, if you need further reassurance, simply have the primary cardholder pull their full reports from annualcreditreport.com and look for a Capital One soft pull under the Soft Pulls section. There should be one every 2-3 months. Then do the same for the AU's reports. There won't be any (regular, consistent) Capital One SPs.

Where is she getting her scores? I assume that they are FICO 8s?

Typically when they quote one score it is EQ4 which is one of the mortgage scores. They can be dramatically different than Fico8s or Vantage scores.
