CSP odds

Hi Community,

I am tempted to apply for CSP, it is my goal card and the next one on the list.
However, I recently was buying a car and got 17 HPs by car dealer.
My credit profile at the moment:
Discover IT - CL 2600$ (1 year 9 months, Util 0%)
Chase FU - CL 1200$ (1 year, Util 0%)
AMEX BCE - CL 16000$ (4 months, Util 1%)
Car Loan of 15709$, remaining balance 94% (14816$) - 2 months old (Got 17 HPs here, do they count as 1 or not? FYI: Chase denied me a car loan due to absence of Green Card)
Also 2 recent HPs by apartment rental properties.
Average age - 10 months.
Exceptional Payment history on all accounts.
Please let me know what do you think about the idea of applying now?
Thank you! Signature is updated with info as per 20SEP20.

Moved to the US in August 2018.
Applied for Citi Costco in November 2018 - Denied due to lack of history (no history).
Started building credit in January 2019. Please hover over each card:

Also have Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold (6 months old, $11k limit)
Bilt Credit Card (6 months old, $2k limit)
Amex Hilton Honors Surpass (1 month old, $16k limit)
Two paid off auto loans ($20.5K and $15.7K)

Re: CSP odds

Your profile and DP you have give look fair enough to obtain an approval from CHASE for the CSP... you have a few CC over 1 year old and one of them is the CFU.

You may have to go through a verification process similar to "We need more information and need Identification verification"... possible to plain the numerous recent inquiries.  I have no experience concerning the Green Catd incident, other may chime in soon enough.

Questions:  At the time of your Chase Freedom Unlimited approval did Chase raise any concerns regarding the Green Card, Identification or Citizenship?

Since your Signature is not updated with the correct number of inquiries,  could you please list your 3B Fico 8 scores if you can obtain them?

In advance, good luck on your future approval!

I don't think Green Card is required for credit cards - Chase didn't raise this while getting CFU 1 year ago. Also, FYI - I moved my checking direct deposit from Chase (had it for almost 2 years) to DCU to get a better car loan rate, so Chase might be not happy with that, but Checking Account is still active tho, I transfer money there and pay CFU from there. I updated the signature with the correct number of HPs as per Experian website as well as per Credit Karma for EQ and TU. I don't have access to 3B Fico8.

Re: CSP odds

IMO I believe you will be approved for the CSP.

If I was in your position, I would be of the opinion to wait at the very least until the auto lease updated agian (it does not seem to be 90+ days old just yet) as well as the Amex card is reflecting on all credit reports with the increase limit, if it is not already.

I am not an expert but I do like to try and slow credit activity down when I have any doubts of my personal profile or of a lender I have in mind... which is why I am currently gardening.

The auto inquiries could possibly be scored as 1 inquiry (by FICO, not Chase) if the HP dates are they are close enough together.

Not to add any additional concerns of worry but I notice you also have a Cjase Business card listed as a goal.  Have you already given consideration to the timing of an application for such a card?

Re: CSP odds

As for your 17 inquiries, FICO will score them as a single inquiry but they will each be individually reported.

(7/2025)
FICO 8 (EX) 850 (TU) 850 (EQ) 850
FICO 9 (EX) 850 (TU) 850 (EQ) 850

Amex is reporting increased limit already. Chase Business Ink in Sep 2021. Will probably follow the advise and wait until DCU reports 3rd month.

I want to mention an additional reason why it is good to wait for DCU to report longer.. thus wil or should also give time for Amex to report again with the increased limit above 5K. The CSP requires a minimum CL of 5k for the CC to be issued and the more time you have experience with a limit for at least this amount reporting to the bureaus then one could expect to have improved odds of an approval.  Under your circumstances, you already have a relationship with Chase, longer than 365 days, which add to your favor.

After hovering over the cards in your signature i did see the expected future date of applying for a Chase business card.  I am pleased to have taken notice that your are planning out your goals.

Best wishes for you on future apps!

Hello

In my opinion since you already have relationship with chase, odds are in your favor and that amex with higher SL should up your odds too. I would definitely recommend checking chase pre-qualify page, if CSP is in your recommendations, i would pull the trigger. The 80k points is really worth it!!. I'll be getting my CSP tommorow Smiley Happy

Re: CSP odds

My recent experience is that Chase has really tightened their requirements and are making cards harder to get. Obviously this could be a one off and others may or may not have the same results.

Scores: March 21 FICO 8: EX 810, TU 808, EQ 813
AoOA: closed: 40 years, open: 30 years; AAoA: 14 years
Amex Gold, Amex Blue, Amex ED, Amex Delta Blue, Amex Hilton Surpass, BoA Platinum Plus, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Chase Amazon, Chase CSP, Chase United Explorer, Citi AA, Sync Lowes, total CL 203k

Re: CSP odds

by the looks of your profile, i think you have a good chance of getting approved for one.

looks pretty similar, if not better than my profile, and i just got approved for the minimum cl on csp.

i went to a chase bank to apply for it.

have you tried the prequalify link?
