Can you apply for AMEX too much?

I got the green because I want the blue..... Since its a SP if denied it is not HP risky, definitely willing to take the HP hit for BCP. I applied too soon after applying for green, I applied again, no dice, does AMEX Blacklist you for apping too much?

No, they won't blacklist you.  Best course of action is to show use on your green card and apply for the Blue in 3-6 months.

Smiley Very Happy

I apply for my monthly revolver denial once every 30 days. It's a soft pull,so what the heck.

my 35 experian inquiries might be doing me in.

Re: Can you apply for AMEX too much?

I've read that AMEX does SP on denial, but I have 2 inquiries on my EX direct report associated with app'ing in 2014 and again this month - both were denied. Is there a reliable way or place to see SP vs. HP on my reports? I'm also a myFICO subscriber, and I don't see SP designation indicated. Am I missing something?

In order to see SPs you can pull your reports from annualcreditreport.com or purchase a report from Equifax or TransUnion.  Experian doesn't show SPs on their purchased reports.

Re: Can you apply for AMEX too much?

Thanks. But that's bad news then, because it means I have 2 HP's from AMEX which were both denials, because I can see them on Experian's report. Smiley Sad

Boulder do you currently have an Amex card? If not, that may be why you are getting the HP's....

Re: Can you apply for AMEX too much?

Ahh. I didn't realize that was the case! No, I am trying to get my first AMEX. I only have an AMEX company-issued card, which doesn't do me any good. And a couple of CAP1 and a Citi Rewards that won't budge! I guess I will have to get my scores up a bit more and then re-apply. The reason for the decline from AMEX was FICO score too low - it was 655 when I app'ed.

Thanks again!

That's sucks.  They usually are SPs but there have been more and more reports of them doing HPs even for denials.

Oh, my bad as well.  I assumed you had one already.  You're not that far off in your score.  Get it above 670 or so and you should be good
