I know I'm a little late to this rodeo, but out of curiosity OP, when you use the phrase "blacklist" what do you mean specifically?

Being blacklisted seems more of a harsh term than just being denied on an app.

With those limits and record, regardless of income and work history, you will not get approved by Amex. The still hold some bragging rights as to who carries their cards regardless of how much we make and how more relaxed they are in approving lately.

Try to garden, get some cli and try in 6 or more months.

I was app'ing for the Everyday card.

Ok, that could be one of the "higher underwriting requirements" cards at AMEX, perhaps because there is no AF.

The Delta SkyMiles Gold AMEX seems to have lower underwriting requirements, several folks with surprisingly low 600's have been approved for low limits recently, but because it has an AF after a year, you many not be interested in that one. (others cancel the card after the first year, but if your scores are going to be good enough, you  are probably best served just getting the ED like you planned)

What oher cards do you have open? What month/year were they opened? It would seem you are right on the cusp of being able to get the ED.

I doubt that. They gave me one. Smiley LOL

Re: Can you apply for AMEX too much?

The plan is request CLI on the CAP1 card that's due for one in April and after everything posts with a little bump in FICO (hopefully to 670+) to app for Chase after pre-qual shows me a good chance. I have had 2 car loans through them with perfect history and most recent one down to 5 months on the term, so I will have a shot at a recon should that be necessary.

Once I get Chase Freedom or another premium card with a little gardening, I'll try pre-qual on AMEX and see what comes up. CAP1 gave me an instant online CLI last time I tried - almost 6 mos ago so I think there's a good shot there. But with the relatively low CLI's they are known for, I believe getting a Chase is my best bet for improvement this year. EQ has me at 674 FICO 8 now too, so depending on what they pull I should have a fighting chance.

Worst case, I'll go for an AMEX revolver, since I need one for work travel anyway and get my history going with them.

I got the green because I want the blue..... Since its a SP if denied it is not HP risky, definitely willing to take the HP hit for BCP. I applied too soon after applying for green, I applied again, no dice, does AMEX Blacklist you for apping too much?

how on earth did you get your Chase Freedom CL so high..?

Ppl that have been on this forum for years barely have 1/2 what you have.
