Capital One First CLI? How Long?

Hello All!

Happy New Year

This is my first post of the new year!!

Quick question. How long till you can app for your 1st Cap One CLI?  I have had my new Savor One for over 3 months (probably 100+ days).  Is it after 6 months (180 days) or, I can try? I know it's an SP.  Also, will I reset the clock if I app too early, or no effect? Thank you all in advance

Ask away, there is no reset.

You can only receive CLI's every 6 months/180 days, but you can request them as often as you please. If you request a CLI within 6 months after you receive one, though, as a rule you'll be turned down due to the foregoing.

I requested my first CLI around end of month 4 and they only offered a $1,000 CLI. I didn't accept and waited 181 days from account opening and was offered a $10,000 CLI. That's what I accepted.

I believe the clock resets only when you accept the increase. Let others chime in and confirm. I could be wrong.

Thank You! That sounds like a great case scenario!! Will update! Going to give it a shot. As everyone has said, the clock doesn't reset to 180 days if I apply too early, so what do I have to lose? Thanks everyone :

Ahhhh...So after the 181 days, you app'ed for $10k and they gave it to you, or they just automatically offered it to you after 181 days? Basically, they offered you an auto CLI? And you had to accept? Thx again!

Sorry, I didn't make it clear. I initially refused the $1,000 CLI when I requested before the 181 days. Once it hit exactly 181 days from account opening, I requested a CLI again and was offered a CLI of $10,000. I accepted that. It was not an auto increase. I manually requested both times.

I requested more but was offered $10k so I took the maximum they gave me.
