Re: Capital One Pending app - annoying!

CA,

I had the same issue.  My venture app showed as approved, but it took a couple days to get credit limit. For whatever reason, some of their apps get stuck in this abyss that no CSR's have access to.  Dont fret, youre good Smiley Wink

Re: Capital One Pending app - annoying!

Creditaddict, thank you VERY MUCH for taking your time to answer all my questions. I really appreciate it. It helped me alot. I hope you didn't mind me asking. I'm just trying to better understand this "game" of credit. I'm not a forceful person and reconing is not something I would enjoy. In fact I dread even calling just to see if I've been approved. That's why I want to be better prepared when I start requesting these higher CL's.
Just one last question if you don't mind : I also make "six figures", but it's in the bottom six figures (150K). With those very high (to me anyway) CL's are you talking like 2 - 300K+ ?? I'm just trying to gage what's actually reasonable. I don't want to be thinking those CL's are attainable if I'm nowhere near the ball park, salary wise, for them. Once again, I appreciate your taking your time to answer my questions. Thank you !!!

right in the same range as you.

Like I said, most creditors especially BofA/FIA lately look at there persona exposure to income, not your total exposure with all banks... now some of the smaller banks and credit unions look at your total exposure to decide debt to income but more times than not i find if there isn't really any debt or little debt they overlook the large large credit lines and wanting more.

Look at someone like Barlcay (they had CLD my partner 2 on our business card for carrying a balance and overall increases balances on all credit cards... we paid it off and then they don't even pay attention that it just had a revolving balance on it and they CLI it $10k past the original line that they had slashed 2.

The banks that still use humans to make decisions (barclay, Bank of America, Fidelity, Citi (if you push the cli apps to manaul review, and some of the store cards... those are the banks that you can really have great success if you push and get the right person.

it's like politics, you will get one person that is conservative in lending and be like no you have to much credit, call back 5 minutes later and get someone that wants you to keep using their card and loves that you have large CL's and handle them good and give you whatever you ask for and don't even worry about the total number.

Everyone else is on 4-5 CLI with discover in the last 1-2 months... we can't get a CLI to save our life with discover!

Re: Capital One Pending app - annoying!

Wow. Great read Creditaddict. Thank you. I just did an app spree the last two weeks and after my Citi decline yesterday, I think it's time to "go down under". My EX score is 790, however it seems almost every card I applied to pulled EX. With Citi, I now have 10 recent INQ's on EX, 4 on TU, and 5 on EQ. I opened 3 cards with Amex and unfortunately they didn't combine the HP. They HP 3 times, so 3 of my 10 EX HP's are Amex. I guess I can't complain. I was approved for some quality cards with Cap One, Chase, Wells Fargo, Amex, USAA, and SDFCU. I was hoping to get my "foot in the door" with Citi. I wonder if they'd be open to recon or if I have too many INQ's ??? My CR's haven't shown any of these new accounts yet, so Citi didn't see too many new accounts, it had to be too many INQ's.

Re: Capital One Pending app - annoying!

Do you have a specific number or should I just look up on here for recon numbers ??? Do I wait for the letter or call right away ??? I didn't receive any type of confirmation number or any email so I have nothing other than the declined message I read after applying. Thanks.

Re: Capital One Pending app - annoying!

I'll call in the morning. This will be my first recon. Not sure what to say, but I'll figure something out. I know it's going to be about my 9 recent INQ's. My EX score is 790 with no derogs. Absolutely clean, but I've added 3 new accounts (that have reported) this year and those 9 INQ'S. Got nothing to lose and everything to gain as I already have the HP from them. Thank you!!!

Just say the computer auto denied you for inquiries but you think your score more than makes up for a few extra inq's that you have taken on in the last month.
