Re: Capital One Recon Help

I am still learning the lingo and would like to know what EO stands for?

I have a Secured card that started at $200 and credit step to $500... shortly after that got a letter stating that I could not add funds to this account to increase the limit, that - that option will no longer be available. I have requested an CLI and have been denied bc its a secured card. Per the letter I was told to request an increase so I have conflicting issues.

I later got approved for QS $500 and Plat $500 both are supposed to credit step to $750 in March or May. They are killing me with the low balaces, so I have been requesting an increase and getting denied. I make my payments on time and still see no reason for the denial. Will I benefit from contacting some one in the EO dept or should I just let mine run its course?

I am but a work in progress, taking one day at a time, learning to be more patient. In the Garden as of 12/01/15

Equifax 569
Trans Union 607
Experian 588

Goal to be at or over 650

EO = Executive Office

As for your second question, I will let somebody with more than 15 posts give us more insight..

While you are in credit steps you are not going to get anywhere with the EO I would just wait for those increases to go thru at the proper time. If you have  unsecureds from Cap-1 I dont see that you need to keep the Cap-1 secured so if there is an AF when it comes due I would close that account.

Re: Capital One Recon Help

Well just an update, Melissa from the EO called me on Feb 9, took my info, I explained why I wanted to be reconsidered for the CLI. She informed me she would forward my info to the underwriter for review. As of today I'm still waiting, I did go ahead and add her as an authorized user on my Discover card though, so if I don't get that increase at least she's covered. Fingers crossed

Re: Capital One Recon Help

I did call back Melissa though on 2/17 to check the status and my request still hadn't been reviewed, that's why I went ahead and added her to my Discover and that card came today

Re: Capital One Recon Help

Would you kindly forward the EO phone number and/or address to me in a private message, as well.  Thanks.

Looks like Cap1 is no longer doing manual reviews. Too many people were taking advantage of the EO line. That being said I don't have the number or e-mail address. I was able to get a manual review for a CLI just through the normal support line on the back of my card. However that was a month ago, this too might have changed.

Re: Capital One Recon Help

Thanks for the reply.  I'll try the number on the back of the card and go from there.

Re: Capital One Recon Help

That's interesting. No more EO reviews? They really must have been getting hammered with those requests.
