my coworker applied for a Capone Card and received a letter requesting documents verifying their social security number and address. Do you think this means they are going to be approved pending verification?
Can't ever say with certainty, but a request for identifying documents is usually a good sign.
Id just say the same as above poster. Cant tell for sure but its better than a decline
But every time for me, verification was an approval just waiting to prove it was me. Hopefully they get it!

Verification can mean anything... Will keep fingers crossed for you and keep us posted on results.

I got the same thing and I sent them proof and I was approved for a 500 CL!!
My coworker faxed in the required documents and called to confirm they received them. He asked if the requested information is a indication towards approval, they said no.
So I guess he has to wait and see.
i had to do the same thing when i applied for my venture card. faxed in proof of address and soc sec number. i was informed it could take up to 3 weeks to process and 24-48hrs for the faxed documents to be entered into their system. it took about 6 days for me to get approved and 2 weeks total for me to get my venture card. approved for 15k
discover did me the same way a year ago. took about 8-10 to get my card. discover was much faster with their approval. i called about 30 minutes after uploading the documents to "see if they had everything they needed" then i asked if my app could be processed. approved for a sl of 1k and since been auto cli's to 1.9k
good luck, a request for docs is a good sign.
I had Capital One do that to me a long time ago, but it was after I had the cards for about a year. They also wanted a letter from my employer verifying my employment. I would say if they are requesting this, it's approved.

Cap One told my co-worker the samething they told you. My co-worker is in the rebuilding stage and his score is in the 585-600 range, so hopefully he can get approved for the QS1 credit builder account.
My co-worker fax in the requested information last Monday and he called in today for the status of his application and its still pending. Im wondering if this is a good sign for him.
