I keep getting denied for all 3 of my Capital One cards(2 QS, 1 Spark), with a reason of too many recent inquiries. I know they soft pull Equifax, and my last inquiries on there(6 of them) were from looking for a car loan on 11/25/20. What do they consider recent? Its obviously not 6 months. Thanks
inquiries can impact your score for 1 year but I believe are viewable for 2 years. If the car loan inquiries were within a two week period maybe ask for reconsideration. I'm not familiar with Cap1 so I'm not sure what the chances for a change are but it's worth a try. Also, if you'd like more feedback consider adding more information about your profile.
how many cards? individual and aggregate utilization? any derogatories? if so when & what? current cl and your income....I'm not an expert but I think this is what they'll need to evaluate your situation and recommend a plan for success.

The inquiries thing is usually just an excuse. How much do you spend on those cards per month? Do you pay in full every month? What are your current fico scores? Any baddies?
Greetings Hockeyjody10 ~ Don't let the denial letters from CapOne bother you as so many on this forum have indicated that CapOne's CLIs are very small . . . so take your valuable time and invest in growing the CL of one of your other cards!!!

I usually get up to the limit each month, but always pay it down to 1% or less before the statement date. That's what I was kind of figuring, was that it was just a blanket excuse for not giving. I've had the cards for 2 years now, not one small CLI after the first 6 months, as part of the STEPS program, then got another small CLI about 8 months ago. Very low limits on these $700, $700, $600. My scores right now are 676 Ex, 665 TU, and 660 EQ(VS 3). So it just bugs me that I'm not getting. I like the cards (both QS), but if they don't raise limits soon, I may SD these, and try for others with better limits.
The only problem with that, is my other cards are CITI secured, US bank platinum, a local CU CC, 2 credit one, and A Citibank Best buy card. So they are all either no requests for CLI, or a HP, which I don't want to do. That's one of the reasons I got Capital One, because of the SP for CLI, just didn't think it would be this hard to get.

Yea it looks like your card is bucketed, unfortunately. It's probably not going to grow much/if at all.
Could be that the income your reporting is holding you back

I applied for a Quicksilver One card and was immediately approved for a $2K limit. I've had the card now going on 6 months. Just applied for a CLI and the got the same exact response; "Too many inquiries". And, like yourself, about half of them had to do with 2 vehicles purchases in the last year and a half. Now, given the fact that my monthly spend on that card is between $3,500 and $5,000 each and every month and paid to a $0 and even - credit balance each and every month, I thought their denial was a little lame. I've read that Cap One doesn't do recons, but I went back throught the recon posts and found the Executive Office (EO) email (those posts were years old). I would like to ask those of you in the know if such an effort might yield any positive results. Please let me know. Thanks.

@sbluejean - Unfortunately, it will not. The EO has pretty much been hands off for these types of manual reviews or requests, which is why you don't seen that approach used especially in the past several years.
