Hello, new member here.
I have 3 Capital one cards, Platinum, Quiksilver and Buy Power card. Quiksilver and Platinum i have had for a year and Buy power for 9 months. I signed up for the Quik and Plat and Buy Power when i was very ignorant of credit ,didnt even know what a credit score was and took anything that would approve me. Got small limits. 750 for plat, 600 for Quik and 500 for BuyPower. My scores have greatly improved and i am now looking at the Venture , but i read you can only have 2 cap one cards. I am asuming Buypower does not fall into that category since its kinda co branded ? Anyway i want to close my 2 cap one cards and my question is how long after i close them can i apply for the venture and not be denied for having 2 cap one cards already? Should i wait a certain amount of time for cap one to recognize i closed those accounts or as soon as i close them am i good to apply? I did call customer service and they couldn't give me a straight answer.
I apologize if i posted this in the wrong section. Thank you all.
You can only have two subprime self branded Capital One cards. I don't believe there's a limit on the number of prime Capital One cards you can have. Cobranded cards don't count towards either.
That's a good idea, thank you!

ok so my two cap one cards would be considered subprime and the Venture would be prime obviously.

Another question, it says on the application you can only have 5 capital one cards total. Do they count store cards that are backed by cap one as the 5?

I believe QuickSilver is prime. QuickSilver One is a subprime card.
