Hi everyone, just figured I would post this for some data (the data on this forum from others has been super helpful to me).
I applied for the Chase Amazon Prime Visa card on 10/26 and I received the 30 days message and I immediately called the app status line where I got the dreaded 7-10 message.
I received the denial letter this afternoon and it shows for the denial reason:
"Not enough accounts opened long enough to establish a credit history"
My Chase Internal RISK score was: 699
(Range goes from 250 to 900)
It says they used Equifax and the data was from 10/26 and as of right now I have not received any hard inquiry notice. The last time I saw my Equifax FICO score was when it was 675 back in the beginning of the month (Oct 7) but I paid down a balance so I believe it should be higher now.
I have 3 cards opened, 1 CapitalOne Quicksilver $750 (7 Months about to turn 8 Months old), 1 Amazon Store card $800 that is about to turn 2 months old, and a Paypal 2% card $2,000 that is a little over 1 month old. AAoA is 3 Months.
I have no lates and no derogs and Utilization is: 16%.
I was kinda bummed at first about the denial but I feel a bit better after receiving the denial notice and seeing that is was just because I don't have enough history yet (that and it seems like my Chase internal score isn't that bad?). I originally applied because I had seen that some people had reported that they were accepted even with a thin history.
