Called chase 3 times today. Got different underwriters.
None of them would confirm the 5/24 rule. 2 of them openly stated that they haven’t ever heard of that rule. Kinda confusing and not clear about it. Going to try once more later and ask. They just kept telling me to apply.
Asked if I was denied for 5/24 if there was anything they could do on their end. One said they might be able to. Depends on the application. This was right after she said she had never heard of the new accounts restriction.
Going to step into a branch on Monday and inquire about pre-approvals. Will ask for the branch manager.
Calling them gets you nowhere.
You need to step into a branch and see if there are any preapprovals. If so that will bypass 5/24. You don't need the branch manager.

Okay. Thanks.
I’m probably going to let me fiancé apply for the card instead of me. I just got 2 collections removed so my scores have improved but I don’t think my chances are that great.
She has the same Prequalified Offers that I do.
Her scores are about 760-780 FICO 8 across the board.
She’s directly at 5/24 though. She’s opened 4 new accounts in the past 2 years. And the 5th one she got added to my Amex as an authorized user last month and it started reporting. Newest account she owns is 2 months old.
Store accounts and car loans don’t count towards 5/24 right ?
Would they approve her at 5/24 with one being an AU if she called recon ?
We both are going to go into chase on Monday and see about in branch offers.
trying to be nice about this but your scores are weak imo. why on earth did you add your au to her if her scores are touching 800? now that makes no sense to me. you can get the au removed via the eo if you desire. a branch is not a 100% override for 5/25 and one should expect an hp when obtaining a new card no matter what the lender says. recon can go many ways with chase

I added her to my PRG card to hit a spending bonus. Since I was out of the country for a month and Amex coverage was horrible there. I didn’t want to miss out on the spending bonus since I took my card with me.
With getting the collections removed my scores are sitting around 680 right now
yep amex in europe is awful unless its a museum or better restaurant. remove her and use the eo to get it off her records, a csr is worthless for this. nicely tell them to remove it and to stop reporting it. this is one place chase is unbeatable, removing an au can be done in a week with chase, with amex is could take a month. in general 670 is a min score to get many cards and 720+ is the next milestone. this is imo from what I have experenced. the cards are not going anywhere, they will be there for you. there is no reason to apply only to get a crap sl imo, get your scores up and some payment history and the world will be yours. if you like europe and pts then you should eye the cip as the sub is great and may not late much longer. edit: yep, store cards count. don't count on a recon to be the solution to get a card, app clean imo

I probably wasn’t going to apply at this point. I’m going to wait until I get done with the CFPB complaint I have in against PRA for reporting as a factoring and installment loan and see where that goes since it’s my last collection account. If I can get it removed. I should be in the mid-low 700’s.
Probably going to have her apply if I can get some feedback on the store account thing. And be added as an AU to the CSP/CSR.
I travel for work to the Caribbean, not Europe. It’s mainly flights and dining expenses I get reimbursed. Never hotels since my company has contracts with many hotels and they arrange that for me on their end.
pra can also be easy to deal with if you deal with an exec. you can find them on the net. ah the caribbean, you poor thing lol. you will never know what your real score is if you have au action going on, why not just have your own credit and she can have hers? classic approach, had stood the test of time
If she's at 5/24, she won't get approved without an in-branch offer. Store cards may or may not count, there's a lot of conflicting information and I personally know two different people who cold app'd CSR and one was denied for 5/24 due to store cards and the other was approved at 4/24 not including their 3 recent store cards putting them at 7/24. So YMMV, but in-branch approvals have a very strong likelihood of overriding 5/24.
