I applied for a CLI on my Citi DC card yesterday. My account is about 7 months old and I've got a starting CL of $5,000. My Fico8 is 725 and I've got about 60k in total revolving lines with 10% utilization. Income is 200k I applied for a CLI via the app and was instantly approved to $6,000. The problem is that I somehow missed the field which askes for the desired credit line. My feeling is that the $1,000 increase which is good, could have been much more had I filled in that field. I took a HP on this CLI request which was a surprise since I've requested CLIs from Citi in the past with only SPs.
My question: is it worth calling the reconsideration line and possibly spending hours on hold only to be told the decision is firm? A 1k CLI is 20% which is not too bad, but I believe could have done better if I didnt rush through the application. What have your experiences been Citi CLIs and the folks on the other end of the recon line?
Any advice would be appreciated.
You can try a recon but it's a near-certainty there will be another HP.
Ehh, not worth it to me then. I'd rather app for a new AMEX card instead
I got a a CLI on my AMEX Magnet card last month from 8k to 16k. So, this would hypothetically be my 2nd AMEX card, are they typically generous with CLs on additional cards?

That would depend on what you would conside as generous but it's not unheard of to hold multiple revolvers each with 5-figure credit limits.
