Citibank application UPDATE

The DW and I both received Citi Diamond Preferred pre selected apps in the mail. Must be because we recently were each approved for the Macy's Am Ex card.

Upon submitting them on line got the processing message and that they would be in touch within a week. Is this normal for them?

(Just checked on the application status e mail and I was approved for $1800.) Waiting to see what happens for the DW just did hers today, mine was Thursday.

Not familiar with particular card application wise but in my 3 Citi applications it was either an instant approval or to call a number which was just verification.  Not sure if your message means good or bad

It is likely a denial.. I suggest you call a credit analyst and have them manually review the application if you really want the card.  Those Citi mailers are just marketing techniques to get you to bite.

Also, if it is a verification matter it will have prompted you to call by giving you a phone number.  All the best and will keep fingers looped for you.

I just checked via the application status e mail. Punched in my zip code and said I was approved for $1800. Guess my foot is in the door. Hope the DW fares well. I did my app Thursday and hers today.

Yes. im not so sure of that. last weekend i got my first pre approval on their website for 22.99. on many cards.

Then Monday. i got a mailer for 20.9 on the double cash. when i apped wednesday night. instead of the 22.99 i was seeing on line. they followed thru exactly as the mailer stated. with 20.9. even though online it still showed 22.99. so after i put my invitation code in. It was instant approval. now i noticed all the pre approvals online are gone. so I seem to think the mailers are pretty golden. but of course. i could be wrong. but seems that way. ime

My DW's apr on her letter is 1% lower than mine even though our profiles and scores are almost the same. They ran Eq and Ex on me.

I have 2 cards with them and both were instant approvals.  So I'm not sure what that would mean with Citi.
