DCU Pending

Hello All,

New to the forums here. I've been trying to rebuild my credit for a little over a year now. I decided to try to apply for a DCU Visa and i got the "We'll be in touch" at the end which normally means forget it. Around 5am Sunday (Today) I get this email.

I was a cold app, so since im getting these emails i still have to become a member. So i went through all that picked a charity on there list did a savings account only. I think it charged my debit card for $15. At the end of that it asked me for my drivers license so i uploaded that and clicked submit.

Honestly not sure whats going to happen. They pulled my EQ which is all messed up and doesnt even report all my information. The only thing that shows up is my NFCU Secured 1k limit card sitting @ 53% uti. (I use this card to pay all my monthly bills to get reward points, i pay it off in full every month, infact i pay more than the limit every month, it just closed on a bad day Smiley Sad ) and a 10k auto loan. Theres 1 collection for a utility on there and CK put my score @ 615 on EQ.

Any speculation on what the CL might be? I'd love to have a "real limit" card. Everything i have that reports is all under 1,000. Cap1, Credit one, Indigo and my NFCU Secured is my highest because i keep adding to the CL every month before they "unsecure it" I've seen stories that sometimes they dont CLI on graduation so i keep adding to it just incase i get stuck.

Thanks for the input!

Re: DCU Pending

You can go here https://www.experian.com/help/login.html and pull your true FICO scores.

DCU uses FICOScore4 EQ for apps. DCU is also pretty conservative.

Good luck! Starting limits aren't normally world shattering with these guys. I'd say a $5K SL is about average for them.

I know of other CU's and lenders a bit less conservative.

Re: DCU Pending

Can you mention some Smiley Happy I already tried NFCU after having there secured card for 3 months, i was declined (They Pulled TU). I called all of my credit cards i mentioned in the first message and asked them to push to EQ. I'm trying to hold out on doing the tri-report on EX until i see them all pop on credit karma. I believe its going to increase the score more on EQ because it will have all my payment history and none of the other trash on my EX or TU.

Thanks,

Re: DCU Pending

It was be easier to recommend if I knew what we were working with score wise. Your credit profile will be what makes or breaks.

Redstone FCU is easy going on the apps. They do pull EX. The easiest way to join and get a CC with them is by applying through https://www.ruralking.com/harvest . If you have one in your state or nearby.

The other option is to become a member by joining the https://www.landtrustnal.org/join/

You can opt for the sustaining membership for as little as $5 and cancel anytime afterwards.

Re: DCU Pending

I have the free monitoring on the EX app and EX is 620 FICO8. 20% uti few baddies but aged. 5+ yrs old. However my cards are small and close to being maxed out. I'm AU on parents synbc/sams dc 12.5k cl. Which drops me to that uti. Unfortunately it only shows up on EX.

I would call first thing in the morning. They open 8am Eastern. If you call later in the day it takes forever.

They use EQ mortgage 5 score, so EX won't really matter to them.

When I called they verified and approved everything on the phone. Card showed up a week later. They also approved an auto refi for me a week after opening the account. I turned it down because I wanted to wait to raise my score a little by paying down some CC balances. Your best rates will come after getting to a 730 EQ5.

I got a 5k SL with no negatives and a 673 EQ5, 16.75%.

Re: DCU Pending

I just got approved for DCU.   Found out about them right here.   Did the charity thing then applied for savings and checking.  I wanted them because of what I heard on there low APR for car loans.  I have a car loan with NFCU who was charging me about 8% I think.  DCU got it down to %3....BOOM!!!   Can't go wrong with them.  Payment went from $586 to $350ish.   Since they did a hard pull for the car refinance they use the same pull for loans/credit cards.   So I was like what the hell can I get a credit card.  They said "Yes"!  $7K cl.....BOOM!   My scores are around 670ish.  I have a Chpt 13BK that drops off in Nov.  1 medical collection that is paid off no lates since BK and about 13 credit cards.

With that said you will be approved if you call tomorrow they will tell you how much or they should be able to.  Keep in mind they wait times on phone are long because they have scaled down manpower.   That goes for processing stuff too.   Good luck!   Let us know how much you get

Re: DCU Pending

I called back and talked to a nice lady. They approved me for 1500 CL to start. She put me on hold and contacted the member services people to get my member number to push the card. They ran my checksystems and i guess theres an account on there from some bank i had 4+ years ago and they are reporting a losey 114 dollars. I'm guessing maybe something on the account bounced 3 times after i closed the account and i never got mail about it. Anyways they won't open the savings account for me which is kinda odd since i thought checksystems doesnt matter for savings accounts only checking accounts. I've had accounts at multiple credit unions, bank of america, and wells fargo. Nobody told me about this Smiley Sad They also won't take a letter from the bank saying i paid it i have to wait for them to remove it from checksystems she said. This is really crappy, I hope that it updates fast. She said my HP is good for 45 days.

*sighs*
