Thanks for letting us know about the soft pull. I have had a 7K increase for my VISA for a while but I wasn't going to accept if it was a hard pull. Went from 3K to 10K just like that. Not too bad especially since I just paid off my car loan with them. They didn't hold any hard feelings I guess. Does anyone know if DCU's Visa can become a signature Visa?

does it mean if you have preapprovals its a Soft Pull?
I m in DCU for
Auto Refi & Credit cards.
My question is
if no preapprovals, no checking account and no direct deposit when applying for Auto Refi & CC, is the credit pull used for the same thing. I had a credit pull 2 weeks ago for Auto Refi with 708 Fico5 Score ( 3.49% APR approval for 65 months; Credit Pull 04/03/2018) and waiting on submitting docs to them, wondering if they would use the same credit pull while applying for their credit card/personal loans. I m told they dont have a PLOC?
All you have to do is look at their products page. They do not have PLOC products. Are you sure you talking about DCU? Why are you "waiting on submitting docs to them" for your auto refinance? You will need to join before they allow final approval on any product.
Once a member, you can apply for as many products as you want in the first 30 days after your first hard pull. Used to be 45 days.
Under the Loan Suite each loan type has a light green APPLY button. If you have a preapproval/prequalification for a given loan type its button will instead be dark green and say "ACCEPT" and the text will say "APPROVED UP TO" with dollar figure and APR.
If you're preapproved it is a soft pull.
Thanks all light green on mine no preapprovals yet with them............................
Well, i m already a member of DCU, however,
a) i became member three weeks ago from 03/22/18 by opening a savings account only so no hard pull.
b) Once member, i applied for Auto Refi and submitted documents; EQ hard pull
c) Having pulled that EQ, i m thinking other products with EQ 5 FICO being 708, what can i apply for? thought PLOC but they dont have it. so VISA and Personal Loan products.
d) As of now, i have no intentions of having a Direct deposit & checking acct with DCU. Loss of half% but its ok.
So reason for my post was the pull for EQ good for 30 days from applying for Auto Refi, not the Membership application.
+1 donny at the first 30 days part and for the rest below is the screen shot for reference about pre approved offers whatever says Accept = sp 100% done that before if apply only than its HP and DCU has no visa signature only visa version i am @30k and still its only a platinum visa

No, they don't offer a PLOC, but their Visa Platinum can pretty much be used as a PLOC as it has no fee cash advance and/or BTs. If they ever offer me a pre-qual SP for their Visa I'll go for it, but I have similar no fee CA/BT from my local southern AZ CU and I've yet to use it for that.
@ DaveInAZ
My issue is whether to wait for a pre-approval or use this credit they have already pulled for auto refi & apply for platinum visa. eq FICO5 708 should be an approval for visa.

Ah yes, I missed that. I have no direct experience, I joined in October with both checking & savings so I took a HP for that. Then immediately app'd for & approved for a car loan refi with the same HP. But most DCU members say a HP is good for 30 days. Since the Equifax data breach last fall I have all 3 of my credit reports locked with a service from each of them, so I make sure I don't get any unexpected HPs, in addition to making sure no one else apps for credit in my name.
If you want to make sure you don't get another HP you can call them & apply by phone, asking them if it will be another HP to apply.
