Does anyone have both credit cards from DCU?
I recently received a CLI for my one card, and I was wondering if I could apply for the second card using the same HP.
I know I could apply for a different product using the same pull. But I don't know if they allow both the normal and rewards cards at the same time. Also it takes forever to reach them by phone.
Well, I was not able to find out today if you can get a second card. I am on the west coast and I called them after the loan department went home. However, the customer service rep did say that he knows the maximum amount of credit is $100k.
Now that shocked me because I thought a few years ago a rep gave me an indication that they would give you a credit line maxed at a ratio of your disposable income.
I will be calling tomorrow to find out more because if this can be a 100k card I am ging to stop fighting with BofA where I never get a CLI and maybe move to this to try for higher limits.

I'd be shocked if DCU gives someone 100k on a cc even if they allow it. It's difficult enough getting a credit card from them let alone most post here indicate 10-20k limits and those are the few who could get approved. If I wanted a 100k I would stick with the big lenders who are known to give to the right profile like BOA, First Tech, etc.

I agree with @AverageJoesCredit that DCU is very stingy.

OK, so I did speak with the loan department this morning. You are allowed one card.
They did verify that you can have up to 100k credit line on either of those cards. But I agree with the other posts here that I just don't see how I would get there. I can see maybe 50k. But even if I got to 100k, with DCU I would have the fear that they would do an account review and drop the limit. So maybe this is something on the side to try for but not all the eggs in one basket.
I did see a post from a few years back where someone got a 50k line and they suggested that the way to do it was through consistent balance transfers.
There's also the aspect as to why most people would emperically have a valid use case (i.e utilization padding or bragging rights wouldn't count) for one of their cards with anywhere that large a limit. Their card offerings are overall quite bland; the only significant differentiators IMO from the norm have been their quarterly SP invitations to accept a card and the 6 month 0% APR no-fee BT offerings extended to existing cardholders each January.
I don't think there would be too many cardholders with the wherewithal to safely use and abuse a $100K 6 month BT without making the CU's leadership nervous.
