Ouch!  Ok, so I just caught up on some reading.  Soooo, it falls off in January (or possibly earlier) - that's only 8 months away (give or take).  Don't apply for anything for a while!

Finstar, now that I'm back, have you found anything else for me Smiley Wink

Well, I just did PenFed over the weekend.  Have you tried them?  If you like NASA, you'll love PenFed.  Also, I just read your other thread where WF has been recently rolling out the red carpet for ya... what's up with that? Smiley Wink

How do you like Barclays?  They have the Bank Of Hawaii AMEX (Nice BT offer + decent rewards - which includes a $100 sign up bonus)

https://www.boh.com/personal/banking-products/credit-cards/bank-of-hawaii-american-express-card-mybankoh-rewards.asp#.VUA4uZM0_TB

Let's see... what's not in your list... oh, how about UNFCU?  Decent sized SLs and EMV:

Thanks Finstar.

Penfed=Pyramiding debt

Nasa will not increase me past the 5k they gave me=too much available credit

Barclays=too much available credit

I'll look at this UNFCU.  Is this United Nations Fed Credit Union?  If so, I thought I looked at that before and you had to work for certain agencies or something like that.

Yes, United Nations FCU.  You don't have to work for certain agencies to become a member.  Like NASA and PenFed, you can join via association, such as United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA).

But, I suppose I forgot to ask, which types of CCs are you looking for in general?

Sorry Creditaddict, we hijacked your thread majorly!  I'm sure you don't mind if we post interesting links for CCs you might want someday Smiley Wink

I'm just searching for more credit.  It'll be good if there were bonus points with it but not a requirement.  How hard is it to get UNFCU?

Not too hard but they're more paper trail-oriented (last time I joined).  Slow process, unlike PenFed or NASA, their minimum share savings funding is $50 (I think?).  I don't have any CCs with them at the moment.

I looked on credit boards and they've given out some crazy limits but those few on there had high scores upwards of 750

Re: Discover decline and again through EO

@Finstart,

I think I'll have to pass on UNFCU.  I don't think my odds are that good for a credit card given what I currently have.

They sure do!  If the profile supports it, some folks have gotten upwards of $100K (some start in the low $30's and thensome).  I think once you're up in the eschelons of $40K (or above), they may request POI.

I noticed your signature is lacking some CITI love... have you thought about the TY Premier or Prestige?  Did you end up keeping Equality CC open?  I thought you cancelled that one.

Re: Discover decline and again through EO

@Finstar,

CITI was a recon that got me the 1k.  I'm going to keep it open for one year and if no love bye bye.  They wont give me another card I'm sure with all my EX inquiries which is why they denied me a CLI when I got the card.  I'm calling EO tomorrow to see if they can help.  I'm not hopeful.  I did close the Equality card but I got an email from the CEO and I was so touched that he reached out to me personally that I reopened..

I wrote them that it's ridiculous I was declined with 701 or something within a couple points of that according to their tu denial letter.
He was nice last week but today when calling me back seemed to have lost his brain and practically went to reading my original denial letter.
I flipped and that's when he was like the main denial reason was "to much available credit."
I said I can't handle that, thank you and good bye!

I guess closing some of those many cards is out of the question.

What's your current CL on that card?

If it scheduled to come off in January, hit the CRA up in December and it'll go bye bye in December

Oh, I'm way ahead of ya on that one. Smiley Happy

So help me if this thing hits TU as well. I can zap it 6 months before it's supposed to come off. Smiley Wink

I'm afraid there's no way (that I know of) to get it off 6 months early.

That is correct nixon. you can ask up to 6 months. out. but best results are 4 months or less.

LOL, I go away for a few hours for a bottle of wine and dinner to discuss my gorgous Ritz package today and I keep seeing my e-mail blow up but cant' see what it's about until I log in and see it's 50+ of Discover.

I think I can cover questions in .2

Current Discover it is joint and it's $9k

My current available credit is over $700k with AU

it's probably 50% of that when you remove business that doesn't report and AU accounts.

Current debt reporting is $3k credit card and $15k car loan.

Re: Discover decline and again through EO

Discover EO is useless. I hung up on the lady when she just kept re-reading the denial letter. You barely have any debt either.

And UNFCU is weird. They revoked my membership after instant approval for unable to verify my identity. Even with a utility bill, DL, SS card that wasn't enough to prove it was me.

WOW! CA $700,000 in available credit with your partner (AU) a 3k debt balance on credit cards and a car loan. That's it?!?!?

WTH do you with the other $680,000 and change???? Frame your $25k SL approval letters for your hall of fame wall?  Smiley Wink
