So I have been gardening for a year. I want these 2 cards. If I apply for both of them both from the same Bank what are my odds of getting both, expecially with only 1 hard pull? I have heard multiple times of people pulling it off by getting 2 Preferred cards from 2 diffeent banks and only getting one hard pull from Elan. I however want the everyday + and the Preferred. Should I try to get the cards from 2 different banks, or does it matter? Thanks.
I got this combo from the same bank too. My second application got the 7-10 day message but I got an email approval a couple days later. I got one hard pull for both of them. I got a 2K limit for each due to recent apping. Keep in mind that if you apply for both through the same bank, the cards you get will be identical. Nothing on my two cards tells me which is which, but a marker fixes that!
Some people use 2 different banks so they can get a Visa & Mastercard version. Not that important to me because I have plenty of each but have seen that as a rationale.
I think it was in early 2021 we had a member here who made same-day applications for a US Bank and an Elan card with approvals who asked and was told that it is a single group of underwriters within US Bank that processes the applications for both US Bank-branded and for Elan cards. Assuming that were the case (I've heard other things elsewhere that make me believe that's probably accurate) you may get 2 different underwriters reviewing your 2 different applications but there isn't going to be any kind of organizational diversity that could be potentially leveraged.

Thank you, exactly what I needed to know. Weird that the cards are identical but whatever, thanks.
Also If I did get the cards from 2 different banks I would need 2 logins right? Would I be using the bank's mobile app or does Elan have their own?

All their cards you login via Elan's app. Also each card will have its own login even if you have two with the same bank. There is a mechanism to link cards under one login but, at least for me, I get an error when I try to link them, so they remain separate...

Interesting because I hear you can only link the 2 cards if they are from the same bank.
I posted a while back about the more beautiful Elan Max Cash cards. Nearly all of these financial institutions offer the Everyday Rewards+ Card as well. Just in case you're looking for a good looking card.
Max Cash Preferred (the really big list of beautiful cards)

Thank you.
Interesting, the Great Lakes Credit Union gives a 200 dollar bonus on the Everyday + if you spend 1000 in 120 days.

Also for those cards where you can pick multiple designs, when do you get to pick them. Before or after approval?
