FNBO Mlife app advice

If this is in the wrong spot, please move to correct topic area.

I have never been in with FNBO, i know there are outliers, but most find it difficult as they are a conservative lender from what i read.

I would like to apply for the Mlife card, i know many dont think the perks are worth it, but i travel to Vegas often (4-5x per year LOL)  i have the Total Rewards card, and it has been great, SO, my question is.  Best time to apply for Mlife.  Stats below if you would like to weigh in. ( i also hear they either use FICO8 or 9 bank card score, is that right?)

TU- FIco 8 706,  EQ- Fico 8 726, EX- Fico 8 789

1 collection on TU/EQ that will fall off in Aug this year, none on EX

TU- 2 inq last 6 mo (2 last 12 mo, 17 last 24)

EQ- 1 inq last 6 mo (7 last 12 mo, 7 last 24 mo)

EX- 0 inq last 6 mo (1inq last 12, 15 last 24)

my fico 8 bank card and fico 9 bank card are similar, though fico 9 bank card is much stronger on TU and EQ than just the fico 8.

ALSO, util is less than 7% across the board, except a CU visa that i used to transfer a balance to which has a utilization of 11%.

Thoughts?  ever do instant approvals?  or always manual reviews?

Any advice, rumors, hateful comments, hehe????  ANDDDDDDDDDDDD GO!

Re: FNBO Mlife app advice

Hi and welcome OP

I don’t know anything about the card but I think if they pull either TU or EX, you’ll have a chance because your inqs in the last 12 mos are low and your UT is low. Since you travel to LV a lot, it may be worth the HP.

Caveat: have you been declined for any CCs in the last 90 days? If yes, what was the reason? Have you had any lates in the last 12 months?

|| AmX Cash Magnet $40.5K || NFCU CashRewards $30K || Discover IT $24.7K || Macys $24.2K || NFCU CLOC $15K || NFCU Platinum $15K || CitiCostco $12.7K || Chase FU $12.7K || Apple Card $7K || BOA CashRewards $6K

Re: FNBO Mlife app advice

From the DPs available, FNBO is one conservative lender which all apps are manually reviewed. Don’t know about other states but in mine they always pull EX. FICO 8 when I got shut down in 2016. I think they’re using 9 now.
Your HPs/24 might be a lil too much for a conservative lender such as them? But who knows? It’s always YMMV.
New cc TLs : 0/6 ; 0/12 ; 0/24 | HPs EX 3 EQ 3 TU 4 | AAoA 8y1m | UTIL 1% - 4% | $300K+ Total Limits

Re: FNBO Mlife app advice

FNBO can yield instant approvals and not all applications go into manual review. It just depends on an individual's profile.

Seems like you'd have a fair chance based on the information you provided. They almost exclusively use EX (very rarely TU) and as long as your inquiries are in check for the last 12 months, not many new accounts opened in the last ~6 (or so) then just give it a try if you wish.

Re: FNBO Mlife app advice

Best of luck OP. Let us know how it turns out.

Pending decisions can generally take about 3-5 days. If it's due to a verification instance they will either contact you or you can reach out to the UW department to get that situated.

Re: FNBO Mlife app advice

When I applied for the FNBO Ducks Unlimited card in the beginning of this year, I was instantly approved for 2 cards with CL of 1.1k each (double app'd somehow, I cancelled one). They pulled my EX report and I'm in NM, I can't speak for other states though. What others have stated is true, make sure your inquiries are in check...they are sensitive to them.

Re: FNBO Mlife app advice

Around 33%. I opened the USAA card around the same time which dropped my util to 14-15% in Feb.
