I was pre-qualified for $15K Evergreen Rewards card with 2% cashback. The app went under review, said I'll hear something in 2-4 weeks. I'm not holding my breath since I just got a card from them back in October, and have opened at least 6 new accounts since then (yes, I know). EX pull, 760 FICO 8, 14 inquiries now. I'll update when I get a decision.

I went to that pre qual site and was approved for 10K. I already have one of their cards that I got in Feb 2021 after getting a letter from them in the mail. Last week went to pre qual site was approved so like a dummy (should have known it was a trick) I wasted a hard pull by applying got the 3-5 day message then about 30 min later got the email that I was denied. So their pre qual site is hit or miss probably not worth a hard pull unless you just have one to waste.
@Anonymous did you get a denial reason yet? Not sure if they have a rule about a minimum time between cards from them. If you got your letter, what was your reason for denial?

Yes I got it via email I think. I forgot what it said but it did talk about the number of inquiries, new open accounts I had and the balances I had on my current cards. My total Utl across all my cards is only like 12%. But since Jan I opened over 10 new credit card accounts including FNBO so that is probably the main reason why they denied me just the sheer number of new accounts opened in a short period of time. Hope that helps
Makes sense and I agree the new accounts are the likely reason. Thanks for sharing ![]()
I filled my application out after getting a prequalification for $15k and after I applied, I got the screen that said I would hear from them in 2-4 weeks. Ugh. I have one other card with them that I have always paid on time but it’s only about 6 months old. I wish I wouldn’t have applied now but I thought that the prequalification was a really good sign and that I would be approved for something, especially because of the amount 15k.
I’m thinking that since I applied around noon on a Saturday, I probably won’t hear anything until Monday or Tuesday unless it just denies me in the next couple hours. Did anybody have to wait a while to hear back and then was approved?

Hey Bro I just got a letter in the mail from FNBO regarding why they denied me. It listed in bold letters the number of recent inquires I've had. I probably have about 5-6 from new credit cards I opened back in Jan & Feb 2021 and then I just got a car so you know how they run your credit a million times to get you financing. My EX score in the letter was 731. Hope this helps

This is exactly what happened with many of us. I applied on April 27th. Application went pending with the 2-4 weeks notification. I received a letter on May 7th requesting identity and income verification documents by mail. They received documents on May 10th. They called me that day and asked me to verify a BUNCH of information from my application. Application approved on May 11th. Still haven't received card yet.

That does seem to indicate that they take credit-seeking as a factor, and reinforces the theory that the new accounts are what did it. The good thing is that otherwise your profile must be strong enough to get a second card so I bet if you get some more time between those inquiries and a future app, you'd be approved.

That's awesome, congratulations! That is one hell of a wait though. Do you mind if I ask what you sent in for verification of income? I've got the last 3 years of W-2 tax forms that I could send in if they ask but not sure what else I could send in if they do ask. Let us know if you get your card in the mail, I hope you get it soon.

Sweet. I can provide that.
I just checked my email and 8 minutes ago I had an email come in. It was from FNBO in the subject line said Thank You for Applying For the FNBO Visa Credit Card... My heart immediately sunk because I thought as soon as I clicked on the email that the next word I read would be... UNFORTUNATELY. It wasn't though and it looks like I'll be waiting some more time out to see if I am approved or denied (It said generally review time takes 10-14 days). I think I will just try to put it out of my mind for the next several days, otherwise I will be kicking myself. I should've investigated that much better and read the forum and took some time to decide whether I wanted to waste a HP on that. I will post the results as soon as I hear from them.
