Game Plan

Hello everyone,

First time posting in this thread as much of my time was spent on the credit rebuild which has helped me to get 790 on experian currently. In 2 months ill be in the mid 800s once i get my ultization down to the sweet spot. With that coming up I was wondering what I should try and target to get the best cards/rewards/ large credit lines. My newest accounts are all over 2 years old so the 5/24 rule doesnt apply to me. I do want to save some lines for the southwest and disney card as my family goes there often so waiting till our next trip to apply for them and get the credits. Also want to add my wife and I ideally are looking to buy a house in the future but dont know when that will be.

The cards I already have are in my signature but they are as followed (alot of them i got during my rebuild period):
Amex plat

Apple card- credit line 9.5k

Discover It x2 12.4k and 12.5k

Cap one venture- 12k

BoA signature- 1.5k

Cap one Quicksilver 2.8k

chase amazon- 13.4k

Re: Game Plan

First of all congrats on your rebuild and success 🥂👍👍

Seems I had a similar path as you on rebuild!

One card I would highly recommend is U.S. Bank Altitude® Reserve Visa Infinite® Card This is a hidden gem among many CCs out there. Yes there is a 400 AF but 325 of that can be redeem very easily, so its only a 75 AF card for Visa Infinite that offers 3% ApplePay/Mobile Wallet. Then you have bunch of other travel credits that can be achieved in one trip.

Don't be intimidated by initial AF, just read the fine prints and see how awesome this CC can be.

Thank you very much it was a lot of work but got a lot of help here. Glad you completed your rebuild as well. I'll definitely check them out and see what they are about. Really appreciate it!

What fun is a Visa Infinite card if you have to use a digital wallet to make the most of it?😜

Oh I'm keeping it in my wallet. Especially when you are traveling for Airport lounge access, Visa Infinite Concierge, Visa Infinite Luxury Hotel Collection, Car Rental insurance etc... There are few cases that you would want to have the actual card with, plus it looks good 😎

Congratulations on your fantastic score improvement.

Why muck that up with new accounts and applications, especially since you're looking to buy a house.

It really seems to me that you have enough good credit cards.

Re: Game Plan

Great job in building your scores. You also have some great cards as well. Cap1, boa, Disco can all get cli's with sp. Why not focus on building up some of those lines and focus on your dream of home ownership? Either way, Great job.

Thank you it was a very hard road but we made it hahahah. Yeah BoA refuses to give me an increase hahahah discover I usually get one every 3-6 months anyway from 300-1500. Cap on has been granting me more but only a few hundred.

Re: Game Plan

Boa will do better with you. Have the faith. Seems they are pretty big on history length. Once you start crossing over with a longer history thresholds, boa should open up the purse and should be easier provided everything else is in check. It all takes time. I know it's hard to be patient, but you will get there.
