Guys I seriously need some advice

Ok guys I need some guidance because I obviously am not doing this right

Scores

EX 700

EQ 724

TU 705

I'm a member of navyfed and penfed.

Navy fed I have the Nrewards  $500 limit and secured loan with the 8.9% pay down.

Penfed I just have the $500 overdraft LOC.

I have a credit one $300 year and half old.

Captiol one secured card $200

Jareds $3000

I'm a AU on a Macy's 2,500 and home Depot 10,000 both are over 6 years old.

I have never missed a payment on any card and always PIF every month

The only balance that usually shows is the credit one AF of $10.00

Its been like 85 days on my Nrewards so i went to the pre-qualification and said all cards so I did cash rewards

Denied

"YOU'VE REACHED NAVY FEDERAL MAXIMUM UNSECURED CREDIT LIMIT.

I get tons of pre-approval for SCT store cards and high % VISA. which i don't accept on purpose because I want a decent card from my credit union

Penfed or navyfed

I always keep like 3-4,000 In my navyfed

And my direct deposit goes to penfed

What the hell am i doing wrong?

Do I have bad credit ? I sure as hell feel that way..lol please help.

Oh never bankruptcy either

Oh on tbe paper my navyfed internal score is 283. Idk of that's good or bad

Sounds like you have a thin file. When did you open your accounts?

Re: Guys I seriously need some advice

My credit one which is a year and a half.

I know I'm younger but I've seen with much lower scores and things get something? I figured after my 90 days on my Nrewards navyfed would throw me a bone but obviously not. I did apply before my 90 but I guess it doesn't matter

Re: Guys I seriously need some advice

Like is it pointless at this point to apply for a navycard at the 90 day mark ?

I'm not trying to over extend myself or seeking credit but It would be nice to have a card that's not $200. $300 or $500 and stick to one credit union lol. I mean I almost have to just use my debit card mostly for things

Oh and all my TU inquires are from NAVY.   EQ Inquires are from PENFED

EX Inquires I have 2

Also I got my navyfed internal score and if was 283 . I don't know if this is good or bad

Re: Guys I seriously need some advice

My daughter is in that same boat. You do have a thin file, just like her. Honestly if I was you, I would check out discover .They seem to like thin files. And would probably be your best shot.
Extra note, Please let one card post a small balance, then pay it off. That shows usage. Actually when I let 2 of my cards post a small balance, my fico scores soar to 805. If not they drop back to around 775-780. Hang in there, you will get to that place where you want to be. We were all where you are once.

Re: Guys I seriously need some advice

Dont depend on AU accounts. Too much stock in those can make one over confident and many lenders look past them anyway. With no bk or derogs , definetly sounds like thin file. If you have good income PF and Navy will come around. I would go after a bank cc then come back in 6 months gunz a blazinSmiley Wink. Discover and Amex are excellent choices. If not check your local bank or local CU. I dont put much stock in scores by the way, ive been denied plenty with 750s or even 800 fico 9s but as time goes by, approvals and better limits do come. Good luck.

Your scores are only part of the approval. You don't have the established history or the existing limits to get what you want. Try some lenders that are thin file friendly like disco and amex. If you're worried about not getting a big enough limit, there's always the amex charge cards. I probably wouldn't bother with navy again for a while. You might end up with a $1k limit.

Re: Guys I seriously need some advice

Ok thanks guys!

I was so frustrated yesterday I just ended up freezing TU & EQ.

I do get tons of pop ups on the SCT and never take em.

I think I may I'm gonna take the discover route or this new local credit union nearby. It's just very frustrating when you are doing what you are supposed to do

I woke up In a better mood and my EX increased by 2 points ! 🙄🙄.

I'm so done focusing on scores

Re: Guys I seriously need some advice

Yea scores aren't everything. You just need time and patience. Grow your existing cards, perhaps try for Amex or Discover as suggested, but otherwise you just need to age your file and slowly add accounts.

Re: Guys I seriously need some advice

Thanks guys again.

I've calmed down since last night.

I thought to myself secured card and secured loan = realtionship.

Do you think a local credit union would help me in a situation like this

I'm so **bleep** sick of being denied lol.

Gonna try out amex and discover too but would a local credit union throw me some love or would I be in the same situation?
