Re: Here I go

I called chase recon and was told that my application was in the verification queue and they could not access it. He provided me a number to call on monday. Has anyone had this before? I ran a search on the number he gave me most of the posts talked about receiving a letter from chase requesting their social security card and proof of residence etc. I find this kind of odd being that I already have two cards for this same address with chase.

That is a load of BS.  Give it an hour or 2 and call back to talk to someone else.  That analyst seems like he/she didnt want to be bothered.  If you already have an account with Chase, you should be fine.

Ok here are the results so far:

Barclays arrival plus instant approval 7.5k (not sure how this ranks among typical starting lines on this card or how difficult it is to get CLIs from barclays down the line?)

citi hhonors reserve instant approval 10k (not super happy with limit since my other citi card is 11k and I will have to close it in a few months and Citi can be a real pain about moving credit lines)

amex everyday card - instant approval 5k (this is a decent starting line given their credit limit policy - I have 17.1k on my BCP that I will likely move over to this card in the future)

Fantastic, grats on your 3 new cards Smiley Happy

What he said was that there are certain things they can work on in the verification queue and others they can't. I've never had this issue before with Chase recon. For my business card I had to jump through hoops to verify and send stuff to them, but then again that was calling in to the business recon line.

That is really weird.  I have 6 chase cards - The 2 Ink cards for business and 4 personal.  Never heard of this.  The reason I'd call if I were in your shoes is to confirm what the first analyst said.  As you know these CSRs are like apple and oranges..  Call and make sure the analyst knows what he is talking about.  If you already have an account, why give you the hassle of verification?  I know it is for your protection but is that really needed for a current account holder?

Yes, its weird although I have been searching the web and have seen other reports of people having the same issue with prior chase accounts. The only thing I can think is that they are screwed up because my last chase card was a biz app with the business address which is different than the residential address. However, the two personal cards have the same address as the current app. One of my chase personal cards is a year and a half old the other one is just over a year old, so its bizarre that now they want verification.
