Hey guys,
For awhile I was getting mail from Citi saying I was "preselected to apply". I understood this isn't a "prequalified" invitation. I ignored them for awhile. Finally a few weeks ago, I decided to try and was aprroved for a pretty high amount. Now, Im getting a different "preselected to apply". I like what Citi has to offer and would apply for another card, but Im not sure if my account is too new to apply again or ir deosn't matter?
It depends on your overall profile. If you provide DPs, we will be better able to assist you.
Sorry, what are DP's?
This is a 2 part answer. The previous posters touched on the part based upon your strength of profile.
The other part is that Citi also has (unless very recently changed) 2 rules regarding application timing.
A 2nd Citi application will be denied if submitted less than 9 days after a previous Citi application.
You cannot have more than 2 Citi applications within a rolling 60 day window. Subsequent applications made within that window will be denied.

Data points - scores, any derogatory info on your reports, number of cards in the last 6/12 months, inquiries, utilization on current cards. That stuff will help a lot in determining if another card is a likely approval.
Ex - 687
TU 710
EQ 690
One collection on each, except TU which is zero. From 5 years ago. Ex has 6 IN, 3 this year. TU has 2, EQ has 2. Total utilization is 15%.
