Re: How solid is Capital One’s Pre-qualifies?

Capital One's PC can be detrimental to wealth building, so keep that in mind.

First of all, the QS/QS1 are both fine cards at 1.5% cashback but if you already have any cards that give you that, the PC isn't valuable because apping for QS can get you a $150 SUB for $500 spend.  I wouldn't PC to QS unless the inquiries are that scary for your profile.

Same with PC to Venture -- the Venture has a $500 SUB with $3000 spend so I would never PC to a Venture unless I couldn't run $3000 through the card in 3 months or whatever.

If you have a clean profile with low or no inquiries present in the past year, just do a new app and get the SUB.  If a card doesn't fit your spending anymore, you can reallocate credit limits from it to another Capital One card and close the useless card.

Re: How solid is Capital One’s Pre-qualifies?

I am confused about why to not PC a Cap One card if you don't want a new account or inquiries.

I have PC'd several cards over the years including my Venture World MC from QuickSilver MC.

I still got the sign up bonus when I opened a new Venture Visa Signature card.

I also got my Quicksilver sign up bonus after already PCing other cards to Quicksilver cards.

In other words, in my expierence, my PC history did not affect my sign up bonuses on future accounts.

Rebuild started in 2014  -  $100k unsecured credit in 2017  -  $500k unsecured credit in 2024.

Re: How solid is Capital One’s Pre-qualifies?

So if I request & are approved to PC a Cap One card, it won’t reflect on my credit report as a new account, and no hard pull, and I should be eligible for whatever SUB?
