Yes, I found the same to be true when I received a cli last month. I found the csr to be very knowledgeable. I began by asking the csr if it would be a sp or hp, he stated they would first attempt a sp. If it was declined, I could decide if I wanted a hp pull. Like you, I didn't want a hp. I gave him my info, and was somewhat surprised when he said your cli was approved with a sp. I only had the card for a little over 6 months, but had the SUB in less than 2 months.

Just checking if i could possibly get a sp cli for my Propel. Interestingly, you can go through the first csr with all your info to see if they can approve you via soft pull. If their system can't do so they tell you a hp would be required and if you consent would send you over to a credit specialist. Pretty sweet. I couldnt get an sp so i just cancelled and went about my day. Very friendly call with the csr. Just thought id add it out there if anyone was thinking of apping a cli. Seems you will have choice to proceed before a hp is done
Thanks AJC for that DP!
Was just thinking about hitting them up for a SP CLI though I might wait til next month when my Propel hits it’s anniv for a better chance.
Well the itch got the better of me. Again.
Just got off the phone with a very friendly and knowledgeable WF CSR. CLI of $5K from 10-15K.
Everything that @AverageJoesCredit detailed on his post was actually what went down to a T!
Props to your post and thanks my friend AJC!
Congrats, and from what I'm hearing the love button on the website works in a similar fashion.

I know of no love button on WF -- where is this located?

I'm looking and don't see anything. I could have read it wrong or just be mistaken. It also could have been wishful thinking on my part, because I dispise calling CS for CLIs.

Good info, Joe.
When I called in a couple of weeks ago & was not given a SP CLI, I asked to speak to a credit specialist to talk about it. One interesting bit that came from that conversation (note: talk only; no HP) was she quickly quoted my YTD spend ($3100) which when stacked against my CL ($7500) did not justify a CLI in her eyes.
"Charge and pay" and get back to us was her advice.
