Congrats, and from what I'm hearing the love button on the website works in a similar fashion.

I know of no love button on WF -- where is this located?

I'm looking and don't see anything.  I could have read it wrong or just be mistaken.  It also could have been wishful thinking on my part, because I dispise calling CS for CLIs.

Me too.

But I hate no CLI luv more so call I do. lol

Re: Interesting Wells Fargo cli process

This interested me, since I recently acquired the Propel (3-27-19, 3k SL) and was hoping for an increase.  So much, in fact, that I had already called WF in regards to this very question about a month ago (7-5).

At that time, the CSR told me that if I initiated a request, it may be done with a SP, but if the request was declined, a HP would be initiated automatically as part of a one-step process.  Since I didn't want the HP, I declined.

After reading of your experience, I decided to call WF again today, where the CSR repeated what I had been told previously -- basically, I roll the dice, and can't stop initiation of the HP if they decide it's required (i.e. SP declines my increase).  Since I'm interested in apping for another card soon, I once again declined.

Not sure why my experience is different, since I even explicitly inquired as to why they couldn't just stop the process if/when the SP was declined.  Maybe I'm talking to the wrong people.

Anyway, just wanted to share my experience.  Obviously (and unfortunately, in my case), YEMV.

Just checking if i could possibly get a sp cli for my Propel. Interestingly, you can go through the first csr with all your info to see if they can approve you via soft pull. If their system can't do so they tell you a hp would be required and if you consent would send you over to a credit specialist. Pretty sweet. I couldnt get an sp so i just cancelled and went about my day. Very friendly call with the csr. Just thought id add it out there if anyone was thinking of apping a cli. Seems you will have choice to proceed before a hp is doneSmiley Happy

Did not see this thread till today. I called last night for 2 WF cards. EXACTLY how @AJC put it.

NO SPHeart on either card. I declined to go further. No HP's for MeSmiley Wink

Re: Interesting Wells Fargo cli process

Hum at 4 months in and pretty high usage over 60% and PIF every month should I attempt a SP CLI? Seems like it will be a deninal due to my thin file.

Perhaps I should wait at least 2 more months?

Re: Interesting Wells Fargo cli process

One thing i thought to be standard, i could be wrong, is WF usually likes a year history with a card before entertaining cli requests?. I know some probably get it sooner if any but most likely seasoned WF customers or high spenders. Just a thought.

Re: Interesting Wells Fargo cli process

Just wanted to share my experience as well as thank AJC for the tip.

Got approved for this card last year being LOL/24 at a time where WF was supposedly frowning upon many new accounts opened with no usage. SL was $3.5k which I was grateful but, still it was eating at me try and get this thing raised up. CSR grilled me on my many accounts opened within last 6 month With not much usage to warrant an cli. So moved on with that explanation. Even sd’er the card and  put not one dime of spendage as well as missing out on the sub $3k spend for 30k MR  😂 to prove a point.

Called in last week after viewing the thread and CSR went through all the verbiage about sp first if system accepted it. System came back with a $2.5k increase to $6,200! Will take that especially after sd’er the card to prove a point lol!....guess it worked😁
