I have been a Citi card member for around 5 or 6 years.
My wife has a $7 balance and a $1,500 limit.
She has requested for CLI's, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
She got ONE cli for $250 (bringing me from $1,250 to $1,500) in 5-6 years of being a card member.
Her credit score hovers around 710.
All her other cards will increase her. Citi just...doesn't.
Is there some sort of trick we don't know?
@The_Rooster would be interested myself! Been six years and they won't budge on CLIs!!! Now I can stick where I am at but, it is the principle of the thing? Been with Citi for many years and had a great relationship with lots of cards (consolidated down). Scorse have been in the 800s for five years? Go figure? A CSR (if one can follow their advice) said my DTI and external credit card limits was all Citi would go with! OK! Do get that I guess?!
Been getting cls on my costco visa just about every 6 months started out at $8,000 21 months ago, now at $15,500. Might have to do with your profile.

How much are you (or the wife) cycling through the card on a monthly basis? Do you have the income information updated on their portal? What was the initial SL when approved several years ago? Absent any other factors that may be considered, if the combined usage on this particular card is less than $50 per month, then it would appear that the CL may be aligned with the average transaction $$ on a monthly basis. Any reason why her scores seem to be suppressed in the low 700's?
Idk if Citi and their UW is different for different cards, would like to know that, and whether being personal vs. business makes a difference or not as well.
But, I finally got a sp cli out of Citi the other day. I called in on my StaplesMore Business acct. and asked if I have had my acct. open long enough to receive any offers. The CSR asked what was I looking for and I asked her if my limit could be raised. She said she was going to check and she said I could receive an additional $500 without a hp. Then she called over to another dept., came back and told me to speak with this gentleman to see if I could get an even higher cli. Unfortunately I'd have to get that hp so I declined. He did tell me to ask again in 6 months for another $500 on the card, if available, it would be a sp! I asked and him did say anything over $500 = hp. So that's my only sp success with Citi but maybe it would work on personal cards as well.
Which Citi card, by any chance it started out as a secured car? or have some type of negative history with that particular card, like returned payment, over the limit, or worse, been late? Did they give reason(s) why CLI were denied?
Just going on a hunch that it has to do with the low score and whatever is in her profile keeping it there. While 700 isn't horrible, it's not exactly great. If a person has no negatives, hypothetically they should have at least a 750.

Sorry for the late reply.
We use that card very little.
Mostly because of the low limit.

It was late once, 5 or so years ago.
Nothing since.
Not sure about the reasons, it usually just says something like "We are sorry, we can not grant your request".
She did get a $250 bump a little while ago.
Here other cards give her $1,000 to $2,000 bumps.
I get an auto $2k bump every few months.
