Macy's AMEX CLI question...

I was under the impression you could ask for a cli every 31 days but I've had this card for 3 months, started with a 10k limit, & everytime I go to the request a cli page I get this message...

Service Unavailable. You're not able to request a credit limit increase at the moment. Please try again at a later date.

Did anything change recently?

Re: Macy's AMEX CLI question...

Could be one of two things....a Citi blip on their website...or...would this be your first CLI request?  They have been known to require you to call in for their first so that may be your next step...

People have reported needed to call in the first time and then after that, can process online.  YEMV

Hi @Physh1 ,

Due to fraud ... They are wanting to verify..that it is you who holds the card ..and are in fact the one applying for CLI's.

I have had this happen on Bloomingdales .. a few times. (same reps/CSR's as Macy's)

I do not seem to get the roadblocks of asking;

"Service Unavailable. You're not able to request a credit limit increase at the moment. Please try again at a later date."

Bloomingdales #1                  Macy's #1                               Macy's #2

ETA: My suggestion is to make a phone call to them!

Re: Macy's AMEX CLI question...

I called in, got a nice $5000 cli.

I've put about 2k through this card, in Macys & outside of Macys with zero issue HOWEVER the rep I was requesting the cli with said my card wasn't activated.

Oh well, goal achieved. Thanks!
