Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

I have an account with NFCU.  After reading your advice here, I decided yesterday to give this a try.  I have a Cash Rewards card with a $500, and have had it for 6/6.  The last couple of months, I have kept a balance, but have always made payments early each month before they were due (this is mainly because I tend to use my CapOne cards on a regular basis, and I have paid no attention to NFCU).  A couple of days ago, I paid the card down to <30%, then waited for that payment to hit.  Yesterday, I then applied for a CLI of 25k.  I got the 24HR message, and a HP from EQ; but I have heard nothing since.  I'm pretty sure that's not a good sign.  I decided to try for a new card by applying online, and got an instant approval for a Platinum card $8.8k with a TU pull.  I do have a nice income and DD with NFCU.  Not clear on what my next move should be, but I'd say it's a good start!  I do plan on transferring my other balances to this card to take advantage of the 0% BT rate.  I'd like to work towards a mortgage within the next couple of year though.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Ugh I’ve got CLI fever...

Question though - is 91 days from date of approval or activation?

I don’t want to ask too early and shoot myself in the foot for 3-6 months. I was approved 9/6 but obviously didn’t get the card until later.

Its from the date of approval, at least in my experience.

Does that 91 day clock start when a 2 year old, $5K nRewards card unsecures and is PC'ed to a GoRewards?  Smiley Happy  Scores are on the rise and thinking of applying for another card before the end of the year if not an auto decline.  I unsecured on the 24th of Nov.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Hi, Did you get an approval for your CLI?

I'm in the same situation as you; 6/6 and now waiting on AR before I request an increase.

Update:  I applied for a CLI on 11/28, got the 24hour message, a HP from EQ, and then never heard anything.  I was certain this was a denial.  The same day, I also applied for a new Platinum card, and was approved for a 8.8k limit.  Today, six days later, I was actually granted a 1.5K CLI from the original request.  I wasn't expecting it at this point, but I got it!
