Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

I was approved for CR Visa $10k at 11.9% on 4/4 and have put $2500 on it since then which I needed for the SUB anyway.  My first due date is 5/23 and I will PIF.

Can I app for the 2nd card 91 days from April 4th approval date which puts me at July 5th or do I need to wait until 3rd statement cuts at the end of July?  I will likely go for the Flagship but debating on it vs. Platinum.

You need to wait until the third statement is generated even though it will be significantly after 91 days.

App'd for my first NFCU card and was instantly given 25k at the lowest rate.  Should I let it be or see if there is more available?

Relative to your other cards $25k is a really strong approval.

Unless you have a specific need, don't mind another HP and don't mind providing proof of income I would let sleeping dogs lie.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Does anyone know... if I apply for a CLI on my CashRewards card, do I then also have to wait 90-180 days after the CLI request to apply for a second card, or are they considered separate transactions?

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

You can apply for a new card at the same time as a CLI, just keep in mind if you don’t wait for them to process the CLI request before submitting the card, you could end up approved for the new card and denied CLI for hitting the internal limit they have for you.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

As I mentioned a few pages back, I got my first card from NFCU.  A Platinum with a rather disappointing $4200 SL.  It has been over 6 months and 7 statements so I figured I would bite the bullet and apply for a CLI.

Got the 24 hour message after asking for 25k.  It was either I'm getting denied or it is going to manual review.  3 hours after I applied I got the EQ HP alert.  A few hours after that, they ended up giving me a 3x CLI instead to 12,600.

So 1st card, 1st CLI request just above 6 months = $8400 for a HP.  I'm happy with a 3x for a HP.  I pulled my scores last night and my EQ F9 was 845.

The funny thing is that after approval and the CLI showed up in my account, hours later I received an personal invitation code for the Cash Rewards.  Well I don't want any more cards so I won't be applying.  I don't know if that is an odd coincidence and just marketing but the timing of the offer is interesting.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Another question... I plan on applying for a car loan the middle of June. Should I wait until then before requesting the NFCU stuff since it will generate a hard pull?

Currently my INQs are: EX 14, EQ 2, TU 5.

By the time I apply for the car loan, it will be EX 12, EQ 1, TU 5.
