Wow congratulations 👏 i want to try but I'm scared to pull the trigger

I may try again for my third card as my TU 09 has increased to 691. I have an excellent nearly 5 year NFCU history.
If I do go for it and get approved for a nice SL, Can I transfer some of that CL to my Flagship despite having gotten a CLI on the Flagship 60 days ago?
If I go for it and get a smaller CL, could I transfer most to another card like the FS and then close the new account later in the hopes of getting a larger SL after my last derog drops on TU? I guess the question comes down to if you can close a 3rd card and later get a new 3rd card???
Or should I wait? It seems Navy is handing out large lines currently for high 600 scores.
DP's: 10 total TU INQs, 3 in the last year. Latest new account nearly a year ago. One nearly 7 year old CO remains (was 9)
@spiritcraft1, You can absolutely re-allocate credit limits between cards. CLI's should have no affect on that.
As far a closing a card, I think you can close a 3rd card and get one down the road, but I have no DP's on that time frame.
I would not worry too much about Inquiries, I was LOL/24 on all 3 of my Navy cards.
They are more worried about DTI and derogs .. All JMHO

Thanks. They have been good to me all along but the third card has been elusive. Three of those HP's are 3rd card failures. DTI (10%) & Income are fine and derogs are HUGELY improved just within the last few months on TU. I will be fully clean by April at the latest but have been itching for that 3rd card for a long time. What I don't need is a $500 SL.
I became eligible for another credit limit increase on my More Rewards Amex card on Saturday! Today I asked for my limit to go up $7700 to reach my goal limit of $25K. They approved me for the new temporary maximum amount of $4k! I will gladly take it!
Applied through the website. It was a soft pull as I expected and others have shared. They likely used my Equifax Fico 9 for their decision which is currently at 752.
@spiritcraft1, Well if you apply for the Flagship, you won't be getting a $500 SL
Sorry, I could not resist.
If it were me, I'd wait until after April, when things are clear.
Even if you could get DTI down to 8% .. I think that would help. (but that is just a wild guess on my part)
Ya, $500.00 would not be cool
Trust me, I understand the itch to APP.
Made a lot killing from SUB's over the last/24
@Jordan23ww, Congratulations on your Increase!
@Washin17 wrote:That's exactly what I do! My second card has cl continued to grow because it started off high but the second card was slow. Yesterday I requested a cli on my second card that had a 26k limit and it was raised to 29k. I decided to try to get my first card with a limit of 15.5 to make my second card and to my surprise, it was approved!!!! I went from 15.5k to 29k! I couldn't believe it I had to keep checking both accounts just to make sure I wasn't going crazy!
@Washin17 Congrats on that huge CLI. You certainly broke the $4k norm these days. Can you please provide some DP's like your score, spending habits on the card etc...? Reason I'm asking is b/c my CR is due for 6 mo. CLI tomorrow and I would like to know if I should ask for the $4k bump or go for 10k or 15k or even 20k overall limit on the card. I'm thinking of PCin' my CR to the FS once it gets over $5k threshold on the card. Thanks!
The only time I use the card is yearly when they offer the balance transfers. I'm trying to pay both the cards off honestly. My utilization excluding the cli was about 24%. Fico scores are 759, 718, 729. I believe I've had the card for 3 years now. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Yes, you are likely right. My TU 09 really lagged and having it rise so much makes it hard not giving NFCU another shot. They are so wierd though... someone with a 640 score gets $20k while the next person with an 800 score gets $1k for their 3rd card.
The DW just became clean last month and shot up between 70 and 120 points and all TU scores. She lags 800 on only her TU 4 due to several new accounts. I will likely be solidily above 800 with all scores unless I go wild now and I am not doing that. I will likely be closing 2 of my accounts at some point, Ollo and Good Sam also. My goal is to add two or three higher limit rewards cards as things clean up. Maxing NFCU CC exposure would be cool. Perhaps adding AOD if it is around and something else for a SUB.
I can really rack up points and cashback on the business side though so that will be a major part of the focus going forward.
DTI is actually 7.11% so I suppose that is indeed better than 10%. <1% uti as well.
