Its meant to be! 🤣
@newmomnewme wrote:Wow!! I'll consider myself lucky then.. I wonder why they tightened up then since it wasn't COVID-19 related. Mine has a 15% rate seems like they would want to make $$ off of those who keep balances on it 🤷🏻♀️
Ya, it is better/cheaper to just do a cash advance on a CC. (especially the Plat. card)
The CLOC is good so that you do not overdraw your checking,
if you have recurring bills and are deployed or have a hospital situation.
Navy does not consider you to have overdrawn your checking Acct. .. if you have a CLOC and go -negative.

@newmomnewme wrote:@M_Smart007 When did Navy tighten up the reigns on the CLOC? I opened mine in 2013 and back then it was encouraged to ask for 15k from the start. Is this a COVID thing?
I believe they started tightening up over a year ago ..IIRC
Took Me a Total of (3) HP's from start 5/2019 to $15K ..
"NFCU CLOC doesn't count towards FICO 8/9 UTIL%, correct?"
I'm stuck at 3k and have wanted to ask for 15k CLI, but after hearing all the declines, including myself, I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
@TheFIGuy, I am not 100% sure?
@M_Smart007 Understood, thanks for the subtle hint
Hopefully, we get an answer and get this topic back on course lol!
How do I know if I have a full statement? Is it just the number of days in that month? October statement shows 30 days, November shows 31.....any advice?
Well i was 91/3 on 12/4 so I pulled the trigger on 2nd card and CLI on Friday. Wanted a big SL to transfer some balances but the platinum I apped for gave me $2,600 (tu 9 is really low for some reason; 590 I think? Fico 8 is 640). HP on TU
The CLI for my beloved $500 SL More Rewards Amex — is now at $1500 (EQ is my best score; Fico 9 was low 600s I think, but Fico 8 is 691). SP. Yay NFCU!!
Both done in app. The Platinum approval was instant; the CLI was not. I checked there app all day and about 8 hours later, it reflected the new CL.
i opened a checking (and obligatory savings) in early August; applied for the more rewards 8/22 instant $500 approval though did not put enough spend on 90 days to get the $300 SUB. crap. So I've been a customer (with a 20 month old BK7) for less than 4 months.
I recon'd via app messenger on Friday to see if they'd budge on the SL for the Platinum. No response yet lol! Was that the right venue?
ps I can confirm the cloc at $500. I was approved back in August for that amount and have not ever used it.
shout out to this forum. Changed my life
@newmomnewme wrote:Good luck @portlandmusician I think you got this! Is Navy opened tomorrow? I would like to see your post in the approval thread when I wander over there this weekend!
@newmomnewme They're open, but I guess they're not processing my application - yet. So, no news. Hopefully no news is good news! We'll find out this week, I guess?

@portlandmusician wrote:@M_Smart007 Thank you. You may not consider yourself a guru, but I appreciate the feedback and help.
I'll try to not bite my nails, and be patient, and just wait to see what Ol' Navy has for me. Hopefully it is good news, but I will share it regardless. I hope it ends with congrats!
Thanks again.
It took DH 5 days to hear back during the pandemic, but when I called they had gotten a little mixed up and calling fixed that. If you have not heard back by the 48 hour mark I would send a secure message to follow up. Then give that 2 days, then call. They are wonderful and during normal times stuff like this is highly unusual, but they are working with reduced staff just like everyone else out there.
@recoveringfrombk7 What was your DH's end results? I'm curious, as I continue to wait. Tom Petty is right, the waiting is the hardest part.
@Anonymous yes it is very exciting! I looked at October statement again and it is 30 days in the billing cycle. I have cap1 $1100, balance of $460; credit one, which I hate, with limit of $650, bal of $500; Ollo, limit $400, bal $291; and Milestone, limit $300, balance of $150. I think I will either transfer the balance to my NFCU or pay them off before applying. Either way, I plan to close them out. I have yet to use the cloc, might utilize $100 monthly and pay in full. I'm grateful for all the suggestions and advice. I'll give an update whenever I go for the 2nd card. I'll wait to request the increase on my platinum after I apply for 2nd card.
Blessings and Happy Holidays to you all!
