I told her to request a CLI on that one.
They gave her a $25k SL 5.99% on the Platinum and raised her Cash rewards to $10k.
She added $29k in available credit with Navy in one day.
She has one 30 day late CC payment still reporting on a goof

Scores are in the 740/750 range.
Dang G, took me 3 years with combos to get that. Definetly a chip off the ol block. #DadPride

She hates credit cards. I just insist on her learning to use them properly.

Lol, if i could go back in time i would only ever have 1 cc. Too easy to get in debt without proper discipline....or money

@Gmood1, Just make Her AU on all yours!
😂😂
That's how we started her credit. I added her to a couple of CCs and had her to take out a Shared secured loan. She's been rolling ever since.
Since TU will fully clean up first, hopefully in 12 days or so, I would like to go for that 3rd NFCU card (4th try). I failed last time since I tried right after a CLI and got the max unsecured letter.
This time, after my last derog drops on TU, I should be in the 800 TU 09 range, with DTI <7%, 1% UTI and 1 TU INQ in the last year. I have no new cards in a year and my highest CL is $12.2 K on my Flagship. Income should support the max they usually give out but I know there are zero sure things. This will be my first app in the attempt to reshuffle the deck and obtain some higher limit cards and would like to finally nail it with that 3rd card.
The question is how long is long enough after a successful CLI? I received a 2.5K increase on my Flagship on the 1st of April. How long should I wait to increase the likelihood of a larger SL? I will likely go for a CR and if I get a larger limit, I will transfer most to my Flagship at some point. Any thoughts are appreciated.
@spiritcraft1, IMHO .. The longer you can wait, the better the odds of a higher SCL,
Due to the fact, in waiting .. you may not hit the "Navy max internal limit" that they are willing to grant you.
Good Luck and may the odds be in your favor!

How long do you think? I have only applied for 1 card in the last 14 months or so, that 3rd NFCU card denial in November day after a CLI.
I will have a very itchy finger when my TU score massively jumps.

@spiritcraft1 As someone who did the 91/3 shuffle and got 3 cards back to back to back, waiting is key. If i had not done them the way i did, i think i would have gotten much better SL's. Even with the changes (the beer bug) they are still all about DTI, so while a higher score is better, you would still need to have DTI in check. You see people with low scores, but low DTI get larger starting limits.
All in all, you have to do what is best for your credit goals and desires, just a bit of what i learned over the last 4 years. Maybe it's helpful.
