Re: Newegg Store Credit

Lol $100 monitor. The ones I need with the resolution, refresh rate and color accuracy run more than $350, hence why I wanted credit to pay it off. I

I lad looked into Fingerhut because I was doing some research but wasn't entirely comfortable with it without hearing about it from someon else.

Re: Newegg Store Credit

There was no need for sarcasm here...we are all trying to help each other out and I learnt a great deal from this forum which improved my scores from 540s to 730s now...

The $100 was just an example. Whether you go for 27" 4K Samsung monitor which costs $6365 or Acer which costs $385, the concept is the same. You will end up paying higher with Fingerhut.

Re: Newegg Store Credit

I found it funny given the context of getting credit to pay for a $100 monitor, that's all. I personally just found it humorous. I appreciate the advice quite a bit, but who really cares about something that I personally found funny. Wasn't sarcasm just my sense of humor when I  read that.

Re: Newegg Store Credit

With mid 500's score id recommend checking out the rebuild section as youll get better advice on what kind of card you might find with those scores. Fingerhut is great to rebuild credit but i dont know their minimum. If Newegg is backed by Sync, id imagine youd need to be at least somewhere in the 600s . Perhaps get a secured credit card somewhere and purchase the screen you need that way so you can build your credit at same time.

Re: Newegg Store Credit

With scores in the 500's, I really think your best overall option is to get a good secured card and fund it for as much as you can. It's unlikely you'll get approved for any worthwhile unsecured card at that level, and even if you do it'll almost certainly be with an undesirable long-term set of terms (small credit line, very high APR, etc.) Walmart is notorious for handing out small lines to subprime customers, though that being said CLI's are reportedly fairly easy to get; I was quite surprised when I got approved for $1,200 earlier this month - I was expecting something more like $500. I haven't been able to get a CLI yet on my $800 Amazon Prime store card dating from last November, though from what I've learned on this site I now suspect the main reason is that I haven't cracked the 650 mark on TU (which is irritating because I'm well above that on both EQ and EX). I used to shop regularly at my local Micro Center though I haven't been back there in a while; maybe later on when my inquiries have cooled down a bit I may try getting that card (I'm in the market for a new laptop).

Re: Newegg Store Credit

If overstock has anything you'd be interested in, try for that since if you get it through the SCT then there's no HP (usually. Some report a HP even with SCT but mine was a SP

Re: Newegg Store Credit

My scores are over 630 and Overstock gave me my lowest limit of $350

But they are worth a shot, esp with the SCT.

Re: Newegg Store Credit

I have the Newegg store credit card 800sl, Auto cli to 3k, with 2013 charge offs showing but I do have long long history with Synchrony Bank. I have bought a motorcycle thru them, carecredit 7k limit, and my JCPenney card is over 20 years old. Someone with some bad marks but very little history probably will not get this success I have
