Nordstrom Denial :( ....

So I went and did my last app tonight and really wanted a Nordstrom card! so when i applied before it was a straight denial! but this time it said to call a 800 to finish my app...

called spoke to a rep told him my info..placed me on hold came back and transf me to another lady who had to verify they had the correct social secuity number???? huh?? so I tell her she put me on hold only to tell me they could not offer me a line of credit? and i would get a letter in the mail!

**bleep** lol really ? has anyone expericed this? you think they had a hard time indetiying me?

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Said I needed to call in to verify. Called in put on hold for a while and asked me to verify my cell phone number (?!?) and then said, “unfortunately we can’t offer you a credit line at this time...”

Uhhhhhh, **bleep**?!

Never even got a letter in the mail and it’s been three weeks.

Love Nordstrom but I swear it makes me not wanna give em another cent. I mean, I’ve got some dirt in my profile so that’s cool, deny me, but don’t make me call in for some pretextual reason and then deny me.

If you do a search you’ll see that there are threads on this exact topic going back at least a couple years.
For the life of me I just can’t figure out Nordstrom’s angle in all of this.
I don’t even care really bc I don’t actually need the card except for wanting the accompanying discounts, it’s just so weird how they go about it.
