Overstock.com Shopping Cart Trick...not really :/

I got pre-approval at the checkout.  I had to enter full SSN. I got approved for $8000. I clicked CLI botton. It increased to $8400. No HP.

i was just approved about 30 mins ago for 2k store card. so far no hp yet on any of the 3 monitoring services i pay for. i put a 700 beats by dre laptop and then clicked on overstock store card as payment and after months of trying finally got the pop up. logged in to comm website and hit the luv button and got 300 more now 2300.

Incognito Browser - Put a rug in my cart (not logged in, no account yet)

- Go to check out (green buttons, not paypal or any other option)

- Do not check out as guest

- On the screen where you enter your name, email, etc, enter Shipping and Billing info (you). 

- *** I think in the either the right area there was a specific button for Store Card (a new one)... or you select it below in payment info (though it then says you need the card number with a blank field)... you hit submit order/checkout ANYWAY. Seems like system understands you are trying to check out with the store card.

- Then I got the same popup others have described with the pre-approval notice, then I allowed my SSN etc in a step of that popup (crossing fingers its a not a HP)

Got a instant $3000 line with Congrats! window. (No HP notice yet.)
I then went right to the comenity website, registered my CL for paperless billing etc, and hit the CLI button and it was increased by 300.

So a 3300 CL!

Just did the exact same thing at Wayfair and got the same limit, then the same CLI -- so 3300 + 3300.

Are these store cards included in your CC utilization ratio calcs for the bureaus? I always thought they generally only had "half the power" of a VISA / MC etc in some way or another. Regardless, 6600 total in one night with (likely) no hard pulls is pretty darn good!

FYI my scores are 655 TU and 675 Exp on CredKarm.

I then went right to the comenity website, registered my CL for paperless billing etc, and hit the CLI button and it was increased by 300.

how are you  immeditely setting up your account on comenity? I just got approved for overstock card and would like to try to luv button an increase but I can't register until I have my account number.... I only know the last 4 from checking out the product I purchased from Overstock. I would also like to pay half of it off now, and then pay the other half (leaving maybe a very small 1-10% balance to report) once my first statement posts.

Comenity changed their card portals recently.......you will have to wait until you get the physical card in the mail to set up your online account. You will also have to wait to make a payment until you get this info.

The items I purchased arrived today. I hope the card does soon. I would like to make my account so I can pay off my purchase and then request a CLI with the button ASAP!! They started me with a pretty low limit and I am anxious to get it moving before I move at the end of this year because it could come in handy later haha. I am still hoping for cart trick to pop for me on wayfair soon and one other store, other than that I don't want any other store cards I wont use.
