PenFed CLIs?

I have 3 PenFed cards, Platinum opened in May, Power Cash opened in August and Pathfinder opened earlier this month. What is PenFeds policies on CLI? I know they are hard pulls, are you able to use the same hard pull for all CLIs like you are to apply for cards? Do you request them online or over the phone? What are the time frames? Any info helps

Re: PenFed CLIs?

I believe they like accounts to have 6 months aging before approving CLI's and providing offers if applicable. If you apply online, yes it would be HP and their are mixed results on then asking for a 2nd card online and hoping to avoid the HP.

In my experience, I requested and was approved for 1 CLI online via HP and then called to reuse for the second...requesting using the same HP. Ultimately, YEMV.  Sometimes you need to hang up, call again. Good Luck

Re: PenFed CLIs?

I believe same HP policy has been changed, because I am also one of those believe it does. A few months back after my brother he got approved for pathfinder, the next day I convinced him to apply power cash since it's same hp. As the result, he got another hp on his report.

Re: PenFed CLIs?

For completeness, as a general reminder note that if PenFed extends a CC offer when they make their quarterly Offers refresh (Jan/Apr/Jul/Oct 1) and lists a card you already hold you can accept the offer against that card and it will be processed as a SP CLI on your current card.   They don't issue multiple cards of the same type.

I opened up my first card with them in May as  well.  I called a couple of weeks ago when I was approved  for the Gold card and asked about  CLI on my PCR.  The rep informed me, as stated here, that 6 months is the target date.  You can call in or you may even see the infamous button on your account online.  I'll be shooting for an increase on my PCR in a couple of weeks well aware that it will be a HP.

Re: PenFed CLIs?

As a recent data point PENFED do not appear to be inquiry sensitive (at least on new applications) as I am LOL (28)

in 2yrs and was approved online

Its profile-specific @Mr_Blobby. Plenty of DPs that show the contrary for other profiles.  A variety of profiles can clear the inquiry/new accounts hurdles, but others will not. There's a lot of factors involved.

Thank you for the DP!

Is there an updated message board that discusses everything about PenFed CLI's?
