PenFed Offers

It has been a while since I have bothered looking at my PenFed Offers. When I log in, PenFed shows that my offers are an Auto Loan, Credit Card or Personal Loan.

In the past, there was a "Accept" button that took you to a very specific product and max amount. Now, it has an "Apply" button and it takes me to a general application. 

Furthermore, when I clicked on the credit card for grins and giggles, it took me to a page that was titled "pre-qualified offer" and it said "you are prequalified for a low-rate credit card" but there was nothing to click....

When did this change? Are these the old pre-approvals with a (most likely) soft pull or is this just marketing? I do not see many posts about Penfed much these days so I have no idea.

Hard pull. 

Most who reported those ended up with approvals.

I had one for credit card, offer had set APR but it did not disclose the amount like pre-approvals you're talking about it.

Anyway, it also had expiration date, and since I didn't apply, it poofed right when they said it would. 

Btw, my low rate CC had APR of 17% something 😐

I thought the pre-screened offers were SP's if accepted?  Haven't seen one for quite some time on my profile and was i believe for a car loan at the time, but could of sworn CC's and CLI's on CC's were soft pulls through pre-approved, did this change fairly recently?

I had a pre approval like that for the Platinum Rewards, I accepted and it was approved with a HP.  It did have a solid APR.  I also have a mailer at the same time for the same card without a solid APR.

I now have the same offer as the OP for the "low rate card".  I don't need or want the Gold.  I would take the Pathfinder or the CB card but wonder if a pre-approval for one portends a good result for the other.  It is tempting me daily because I have never had pre-approvals from PenFed in my 12 year history with them and no pre-approvals from anyone over the last 7 years.

I think they still do both HP

These ones (without amount) are more like prequals compared to true pre-approvals.

I logged into my PenFed account had my first offer (besides TurboTax) for a credit card. To access anything, you have to press the APPLY.  The page says "SELECT YOUR CARD - You're approved for a low-rate credit card from PenFed). There is nothing to click or no information. There are no cards to choose from. Has anybody else seen this or had this issue?

I can't say that I have...but you didn't state if you were on your phone or on a full browser.  Their website opens up other pages/pop ups depending on the activity you're doing so if you're on a phone...use a full browser on a PC instead and if your Pop-Up's are blocked, allow them for that page.

I'm on my phone nothing changed when swap to request desktop website. I'll try it on a PC tomorrow. This is all I get on the phone.
