Question about Pre-equal for Discover

I just did the "pre-equal "for on the Discover site and it came with the Discover It card, but...it didn't say "this is the card we found for you" or that verbiage as others do !

Does that I met their criteria for a card or just putting it out there to apply for it ?

My TU is setting at 761 and there was some phases under there stating that I would be getting a monthly TU score from (TU) with the statement.

Just wanted to know before actually app'ing !

When I applied for Discover last year, it was thorugh the Pre-Qual page. I had a fixed APR that appeared on the page, and was instantly approved after I applied. Generally speaking, almost everybody is pre-qualified through the Discover Pre-Qual page, but not everyone sees that fixed APR. If its a fixed APR, its likely an approval. If it is an APR range, then theres no guarantee you'll be approved. The FICO score that will appear on your account if your approved, will be through TU. Hope this helps!

Re: Question about Pre-equal for Discover

Good luck if you apply but just remember that even people with high Fico still get rejected;( not saying this will be the case but Discover can be fickle beast at timesSmiley Happy . Best regards!!!Smiley Happy

Re: Question about Pre-equal for Discover

Keep in mind that while Discover after approval deals only with TU in terms of SPs on your account, your monthly FICO score and potential CLIs, they may pull a different bureau when you apply.  In fact, a quick Credit Pulls Database glance shows me that they pull TU least; EQ seems to be the most common, then EX, then TU.  For me, they pulled EQ upon applying.  You can search by your state on there to get better data points relative to your location.

Re: Question about Pre-equal for Discover

Thanks for all this good info, I think I'll pass on Dico for now !
My EQ comes in last at 653, TU at 761 and EX at 717.
I have a pending dispute with EQ on a paid judgement that they continue to show unpaid. I pd 8K back in April. .certainly Disco wouldn't find this appealing to them !

Thanks guys !

Re: Question about Pre-equal for Discover

You guys are right^^ in them posting varying interest rates !

I just did the pre-equal again and got the 11.99%-23.99% screen ! So, no set interest for me , yet !

I'm shying away from them until I see a set rate, if not, I'll forget them !

My profile and scores are really improving and if Dico wants me, they ll surly offer !

Thanks for the heads-up!

Re: Question about Pre-equal for Discover

Yeah Discover prequal page is kind of loopy. When i put in just my name and ss, i get the discover it and the 11.99%-23.99% jist. When i put in my name and the last name mispelled like my most recent offer, its actually says average joe( my name), weve found a personal offer for you and then gives me 16.99%-19.99 % range. So no idea with themSmiley Happy

I think you must have to cold app with them, this doesn't seem trustworthy!

Re: Question about Pre-equal for Discover

I did not have a pre-qual for Discover with an EQ of 640 and got approved for $2000 limit. Lots of inquiries.
